[There may be some changes to the timeline now but Descendant Karaoke Bar and Lounge is still open for business. There are always people looking to have a good time drinking and blowing off some steam with a good song. It doesn’t matter if they’re ordinary civilians or some of Central City’s more... colorful characters. Just be nice to the bouncers and check your weapons by the entrance first.

To reflect the fall season, Descendant has included seasonal drinks like pumpkin beer, apple cocktails, and spiced maple bourbon.

Meanwhile, some of this month's most popular songs seem to be reflecting Halloween, such as Highway to Hell and Monsters. Or maybe you want to do a more classy number like Witchcraft? Descendant looks like a speakeasy after all. And in a total coincidence, Time Warp has also shown up on the popularity chart.

If you drop by at Descendant on a Coyote Ugly Night, you’ll find the atmosphere considerably wilder and wetter. You might’ve even already seen some of the social media posts and videos of the employees performing. They certainly look like they’re having a good time.

Perhaps you’re coming in during a more normal time. Come by for a drink. Maybe rent a private karaoke room or karaoke on stage in front of others if you’re feeling brave. There are some bar games around too.

You can always just people watch as well. Those who are especially observant might notice that some of Descendant’s customers are a bit... furtive as they keep their heads low or quickly scurry to one of the private rooms.

There’s always the reading room too for those who want a more quiet ambiance.

And then there's the very select few who are allowed upstairs in the attic apartment.

Whatever the case may be, Jason will be around. As Descendant’s owner, he’s a busy guy with plenty he has to do]

( he can try. but jason's taking the hand reaching for him and--sliding his own along the outside of it. tries to grab hold of junior's wrist, and in a move that takes significant more flexibility than one would expect from someone his size, he's trying to grab hold of junior and throw him down to the floor over his shoulder. )

Jason sees what’s coming and knows he can’t break out of the grip. So instead, he grabs the man’s arms and tries to pull him down with him.

[reneger]

( this isn't supposed to be jason winning. he's supposed to let it happen, make it look good. which is the only reason why when junior grabs at him, he doesn't maneuver his way out of the hold and shove his fist straight into his nose. instead, he falls right down on top of junior and slams the side of a fist into his chest once they're both down. )

[robintohood]

[The crowd collectively flinches and moans when both Jasons are on the floor and the younger gets punched in the chest. Some are also making pictures and video. Meanwhile, younger Jason coughs before trying to grapple to flip their positions]

[reneger]

( jason's weight shifts up onto his knees as soon as they're down on the ground, forearm lowering to press against junior's neck to try and start cutting off his hair supply, but it's not - that hard. he's careful to keep his weight up enough that no amount of bucking isn't going to toss him off, but jason is leaning down, to grin right in junior's face.

whispers soft, just between them: )

Bet I can make it worse.

[Jason narrows his eyes to a glare while trying to not gag. A cough does escape him though]

Careful. People might think we’re really fighting.

[reneger]

Sweetheart,

( voice a soft coo, but he's raising it enough that those close to them will be able to catch onto his words. jason presses in closer, mouth almost brushing against junior's ear. )

Did you think this was just a game? 'cause I ain't playing.

[robintohood]

[The crowd squeals at the Jasons being on top of each other and being so close. Meanwhile, younger Jason’s temper rises up again as he tries to buck him off]

[reneger]

( his grin only grows, more teeth than anything else as jason shifts his weight up a little, then--sits himself down on top of junior's hips.

gives him all the room in the world to squirm, while jason's arm moves off of his neck, but his hand grips onto his throat instead - just over his adam's apple. not hard enough to cut his air off entirely, but enough to piss him off. he'll ride out the waves.

the crowd'll love it. and jason, maybe not quite as much of a showman as dick grayson is but damn good at it when he feels like it, darts his tongue out. licks across his upper lip. )

You'll have to try a little harder than that.

[Jason knows it’s his other self’s way of doing showmanship and pissing him off. The worst thing about it is that it’s working and the crowd’s loving. Then there’s the fact that it’s happening at his own business. Like it wasn’t bad enough that older Jason has no problems with screwing with his crime lord work. At least there are going to be a lot of tips at the end of this.

So Jason opts to try to reach for his older self’s hair and yank]

Enough.

[ There are no shirts to grab, so the older Jason will find himself hauled back by the waist of his jeans and dumped unceremoniously on the floor, one booted foot resting warningly on his gut. The younger Jason, reaching for his double's hair, will find that hand caught in a sudden glowing cuff of Diana's lasso.

She stands above them, holding the one down with her foot and the other with the lasso, and gives them both a hard look. ]

Stop this. Are you children, shoving each other in a schoolyard, that you must act this way?

[reneger]

( he knew diana was around but hadn't expected--this. jason feels her grab onto him, and he's immediately moving to--fuck if he knows. shove himself out of the way, kick back, throw a sucker punch, something. but he registers it's her almost as soon as he realizes he's fucked and she's got him. he goes down, gives an "oof" when her boot shoves against his gut, but jason doesn't move any.

just puts his hands palm up beside his head on the ground and looks up to her, expression half shocked and half--something else. confused, amused, excited, fuck if he knows. )

He started it.

[robintohood]

[As soon as Jason feels the tug from the Lasso of Truth, he realizes the fun has stopped. He’s still scowling but now resembles more like a child, which unintentionally adds further credence to Dian’s comment about the Jasons doing a schoolyard fight]

It was supposed to be play fighting.

[And now with the lasso on him, Jason knows he can’t bullshit or be much of a smartass]

I ought to thump both your heads together.

[ She ignores the whispers from the swarm of curious onlookers, focusing instead on the two young men now on the floor, one beneath her boot and the other locked into the lasso. ]

'He started it' – 'it was supposed to be' – you are better than these excuses, and you are better than this. Or so I believed you to be.

[ With a flick of her wrist, she unwinds the lasso from the younger Jason's wrist, then lifts her foot from the older's Jason's belly. ]

Will you shake hands and part now as friends, at least for the night, or do I need to make my point more clearly?

[reneger]

( he can take the 'i'm not mad, i'm just disappointed' speeches from bruce (even if it usually ends up as mad and disappointed) but it hits differently coming from diana. jason doesn't move an inch until she's lifted her boot, and then he's--pushing himself up into a sitting position, one knee drawn up so he can rest his forearm on it. )

We're good.

[robintohood]

[Jason backs away literally and figuratively when Diana lets him go. He's used to getting lectured by Bruce but someone he respects like Diana showing her disappointment is different. So the scowl lessens]

Fine. No more fights tonight.

[ She's pleased, despite their reluctance. The lasso returns, wound into a glowing circle, to her hip, and she holds out an empty, inviting hand to each of them to help them up. The time for scolding is done; now it's time for empathy.

She could use the lasso, ensure they're telling the truth, but that would be kicking them when they're already down. ]

On your feet, now, both of you. You have customers waiting. I believe you've thoroughly piqued their interest.

[reneger]

( there's a part of him who wants to push harder. to open his mouth and snark back at junior, to cause problems just because he can and fuck that guy, really, but he doesn't.

because diana's standing right in front of him and holding her hand out to him, and jason's taking that to pull himself back up to his feet instead. raises a hand to shove fingers through wet hair, combing it back and out of his way before he's starting towards the staff-only area. )

I'm borrowing a shirt, ( words directed back at junior, and he's snorting. he's not starting shit, clearly this is just stating facts-- ) if I can even find one that'll fit.

[robintohood]

[Jason takes Diana’s hand before straightening himself up. Unlike his hair, the tone uses to respond back to his doppelgänger is dry]

Sounds like a personal problem. Have fun with that.

[ She shakes her head at them both, but they're on their feet and moving away from each other, which is, she thinks, the best she can hope for just now. ]

Perhaps I should take that security position.

[reneger]

( they're on their feet, and jason is - walking away from it. not without raising his hand up and flipping junior off over his shoulder, but he keeps walking instead of turning around to turn it into another fight, so.

it could be worse. )
