It's Friday October 27th when this housewarming shindig happens at the townhouse in Central he's recently purchased for himself and with it being so close to Halloween, he decides to decorate it a little. Or maybe a lot. He's still trying to get the hang of this whole Bruce Wayne thing.

Either way, the lower floor of the five-story townhouse is decorated for the spooky season and the one floor he'd prefer people to stick to since he's not the only one who lives here. There's food and refreshments available with something hopefully for everyone and if you're in the mood for something a little more spooky for a drink, there's this little guy lined up along one of the tables to be enjoyed, the flavor being a tart pomegranate with a touch of sweetness to it. Yes, it can also be alcoholic and yes, he has someone stationed there to ensure those of age to drink are the ones taking the alcoholic version of that.

On your way in or out, don't forget to say hi to the concierge for the night and feel free to take your complimentary pumpkin bucket filled with candy he has for guests. Don't worry about checking the candy for trackers. It's not like he would ever do such a thing. 😇 Happy Housewarming Halloween.

ooc notes: just a stupid little housewarming mingle thrown together where bruce makes an attempt to Do Something for his kiddos and friends he has here. Diana also lives within the townhouse and so friends of hers are welcome to stop by as well if she'd invite them. whoever the kiddos want to bring along with them are also welcome to stop by but please stick to the first floor where the shindig is or else bruce is going to be Disappointed aka i'm still figuring out the rest of the floors.

drink in hand, he catches the way bear wanders off out of the corner of his eye and trails him with his gaze. what he sees somehow should surprise him and yet, it also doesn't. while the pup enjoys the attention of jason and the treats given, bruce just hums to himself before he makes his way over and stands there. silent. staring. hm. )

I wasn't sure you'd show.

Thought about starting at the top floor, but figured it'd be more fun to steal your shit when you've already been warned.

( it's a threat that isn't quite a threat. bruce'll get it. jason's here to steal his shit, not party, but he can do both at once. especially when one involves sitting down to give bear some attention, first. )

And I didn't think any of them would show either.

( so he's surprised, to say the least, that they've come out. )

Bear's been pretty popular here.

( jason, unfortunately, chose to dress very similar to other jason, but it's a little too late to go back and pick out something else and he's not giving in first. junior can change first.

in the meantime, he's going to step up beside nico as he loads up his plate full of food, and reaches past him to grab onto a few pieces of fruit to shove into his mouth. )

( you know, given he'd put it together and stuffed it full of hidden pockets. )

[ kyle shoots him a dirty look. ]

Did you come just to steal my drink?

'cause he's a good boy.

( unlike the rest of them. bear gets a few more scritches under his chin, before jason pulls himself up to his feet. he's not usually one for wearing shit like this, but he clearly feels comfortable in it regardless. )

You invited us, did you think we were all gonna ignore it?

Clearly. What else would I show up here for?

( the company? because bruce invited him? nah. he is going to raise the drink up to his mouth and take a drink from it before--making a face at it. )

( he glances down to his drink. )

Might have crossed my mind.

[ he rolls his eyes. ]

Uh-huh.

If you call us over, we'll come.

( his voice is--low, a little sullen. )

( whatever. the cup gets raised back up to jason's mouth, and he finishes the rest of the drink down before offering the empty cup back over to kyle. )

He took all the fun out of stalking him down.

I'd rather you be here because you want to be. Not out of some obligation.

( to him. the bruce they know. )

( or it kind of is, but it isn't in the way that bruce is trying to imply. jason's nose scrunches up for a moment, before he lets out a breath through it and reaches over for one of the snack trays. )

I don't usually get called in unless it's an emergency. If you call me over for a visit, I'm gonna come.

( because he likes being invited. being part of something. )

( he looks down over to bear as jason says that — watches the way he wags his tail while looking up to them, looking super spiffy there in his custom-made leather jacket. )

( and while his tone is soft, it's genuine. )

( right. jason's not touching that with a ten foot pole. the soft tone, the way bruce says shit. he's not up for dissecting that right now, so he decides to--ignore it entirely. )

You find the switchblade I stashed in his jacket yet? ( bear's. the very small one inside the pocket sewn in above his rib cage on the right side. not to mention the numerous trackers sewn into it. )

( a soft breath of amusement there on his lips. )

Going to teach him how to use it? He's going to need a mask at this rate.

Obviously. If he's planning on sticking 'round us, he's going to need all the training he can get.

( everything always goes to shit for them. granted, ace and titus are generally pretty hardy just on their own, but. )

( slowly, he takes a sip of his drink then eyes jason a little more curiously. )

Why this costume?

'cause Wonder Woman's the best Leaguer there is.

( to be fair, there are a lot of different qualifications for best. if they wanted to go most powerful, it wouldn't be her. hell, it'd be hard to quantify. bruce has plans on how to take out everyone, kyle's - a god currently, superman's himself. and that's not even touching shazam, the speedsters, the martians, the reincarnated birds... )

( softly, a hm. another sip of his drink. )

You should find her at some point tonight. I'm sure she'd like your costume.

I'll say hi.

( for now, he's going to saunter his way over the kitchen. why? to sift through bruce's cabinets. )

I know. The worst.

( but he's--grinning, light and easy. bumps his shoulder in against kyle's so he can lean into him. )

You gonna help me steal his shit?

[ Nico rather impatiently twisters his arm under Jason because how dare he block the black tortilla chips before Nico’s done creating a burial mound of chips and hummus on his plate. ]

Hi Jason.

[ And then the realization that it’s again the other Jason. ]

Tim switched with me for the party.

[ Nico looks around for the more familiar Jason. Did he have them mixed up from the start? ]

Was dressing like someone else the theme?

[ Nico thinks Tim did a pretty good job, really, and is relieved he didn’t deck himself in the face with a powder puff of pale makeup.

But he has to take the decorations in again at that. ]
