It's Friday October 27th when this housewarming shindig happens at the townhouse in Central he's recently purchased for himself and with it being so close to Halloween, he decides to decorate it a little. Or maybe a lot. He's still trying to get the hang of this whole Bruce Wayne thing. Either way, the lower floor of the five-story townhouse is decorated for the spooky season and the one floor he'd prefer people to stick to since he's not the only one who lives here. There's food and refreshments available with something hopefully for everyone and if you're in the mood for something a little more spooky for a drink, there's this little guy lined up along one of the tables to be enjoyed, the flavor being a tart pomegranate with a touch of sweetness to it. Yes, it can also be alcoholic and yes, he has someone stationed there to ensure those of age to drink are the ones taking the alcoholic version of that. On your way in or out, don't forget to say hi to the concierge for the night and feel free to take your complimentary pumpkin bucket filled with candy he has for guests. Don't worry about checking the candy for trackers. It's not like he would ever do such a thing. 😇 Happy Housewarming Halloween. ooc notes: just a stupid little housewarming mingle thrown together where bruce makes an attempt to Do Something for his kiddos and friends he has here. Diana also lives within the townhouse and so friends of hers are welcome to stop by as well if she'd invite them. whoever the kiddos want to bring along with them are also welcome to stop by but please stick to the first floor where the shindig is or else bruce is going to be Disappointed aka i'm still figuring out the rest of the floors.

[ Kyle has never been as close to the Bruce of her world as she is, but she still understands his surprise. Bruce – any Bruce – does prefer to cultivate an altogether different reputation, but the truth is he's always been generous with his friends. ]

[ he squints at her for a moment. ]

A lock isn't that much of a deterrent to a Robin - not that Tim was planning to pick locks tonight. It would be impolite, after all. He can sneak around Bruce's new house more when he hasn't put so much effort into decorating the one floor of it. He just wanted the lay of the land.

"I was curious if you were coming," he says, taking the out and running with it.

Yeah, so. Tim is 100% communing with the dog right now. Bruce can wait his turn while Tim kneels down next to Cocoa Bear for all the scritches.

"The jacket was from Jason?"

[ She sighs, a little, and leans back against the table, cupping her hands around her drink before she looks back at Kyle. Her only real friend, the only one who really knows her, here. ]

Save that I must see this through. Whatever it is.

A wise little bird. Diana smiles a little more warmly. "Yes, I am. I certainly ought to, seeing as this is my housewarming, too."

She takes a few steps down, giving Tim the choice of falling into step next to her or brazenly attempting to get past. "And I wouldn't miss the chance to see all of you."

[ Jean glances up. An unhurried, fluid movement toward the voice that is-and-isn't, of the man whose quiet rumble of thoughts at the nothing-like-far edge of her perception is-and-isn't. The smile stays even as she settles for finding his eyes (the new ones), seeing this face (so much younger, and ... yet) finally with her own eyes, and not those of someone else, whether in this room or in their thoughts. ]

You sure it's going to take that long even?

[ hm. ]

Well, I've got your back. You know that.

[ it's still weird though. and he doesn't want to examine why. he's put those dreams behind him. ]

[ At that, her smile gentles and her eyes soften. ]

I know. And I, yours. Whenever you might need me. But, Hera help me...

[ She lifts her drink for a sip, wry. ]

I miss our other friends. What I wouldn't give to see Kal appear. Arthur. J'onn. The others.

I know.

[ it's been weirdly lonely, sometimes. the bats have each other and their own drama, a thing kyle generally toes the line.

it's not the same as the league. connor and wally left so quickly too. ]

I've been here for nearly a year now.

[ She reaches to curl her fingers over his shoulder, squeezes gently. ]

You have me, now.

[ As much joy as she wishes him of Jason, as much as they both have this Bruce, it's not the same. It isn't the League. They aren't together on the Watchtower, working in tandem and enjoying each others' company. ]

Have you given any further thought to what we discussed? About the Alliance?

[torchbearer]

[ he swirls the drink in his glass absently for a moment. ]

Yeah. I guess it couldn't hurt to try it out. And change it from the inside if we need to.

I did put the question to Bruce. As expected, he wants no part of it.

[ She sips at her own drink. ]

His suspicions are... unallayed.

I'm shocked.

[ She chuckles, turns an amused glance on him. ]

I cannot even soothe his suspicions of Superman. So I think a sullen agreement that you and I can do as we wish is the best we can hope for.

Yeah, that whole thing is weird too.

[ he knows that bruce keeps a piece of kryptonite to stop clark, but . . . clark always knew. encouraged it even. ]

But I'm in.

[ She hopes he will. She hopes it very much. ]

[ She holds out her hand to him, to shake on it. ]

What will Jason think of it?

[ kyle shakes it warmly. ]

I don't think he'd care all that much.

[ She shakes his hand firmly, then props her own against the table so she can lean against it. ]

He seems to have his own concerns.

[ Like, for example, getting into fights with his double. ]

Are those concerns "getting himself in trouble" because I'm pretty familiar by now.

Dylan had spent so much time grieving Diana after she'd left. Seeing her so casually at a party felt like seeing a ghost.

He's dumbstruck for a moment, feeling a race of — Excitement? Elation? It's a lightning strike of something, and the smile's already crossing his face before he can fully process it.

But... no. He knows the Diana here now isn't the same one as before; Seeing her in person, the differences are clear as day.

His smile softens a bit. "I know. I mean, I knew... the other Diana who was here before you. It's nice to meet you. I'm Dylan."
