It's Friday October 27th when this housewarming shindig happens at the townhouse in Central he's recently purchased for himself and with it being so close to Halloween, he decides to decorate it a little. Or maybe a lot. He's still trying to get the hang of this whole Bruce Wayne thing. Either way, the lower floor of the five-story townhouse is decorated for the spooky season and the one floor he'd prefer people to stick to since he's not the only one who lives here. There's food and refreshments available with something hopefully for everyone and if you're in the mood for something a little more spooky for a drink, there's this little guy lined up along one of the tables to be enjoyed, the flavor being a tart pomegranate with a touch of sweetness to it. Yes, it can also be alcoholic and yes, he has someone stationed there to ensure those of age to drink are the ones taking the alcoholic version of that. On your way in or out, don't forget to say hi to the concierge for the night and feel free to take your complimentary pumpkin bucket filled with candy he has for guests. Don't worry about checking the candy for trackers. It's not like he would ever do such a thing. 😇 Happy Housewarming Halloween. ooc notes: just a stupid little housewarming mingle thrown together where bruce makes an attempt to Do Something for his kiddos and friends he has here. Diana also lives within the townhouse and so friends of hers are welcome to stop by as well if she'd invite them. whoever the kiddos want to bring along with them are also welcome to stop by but please stick to the first floor where the shindig is or else bruce is going to be Disappointed aka i'm still figuring out the rest of the floors.

He seems to have his own concerns.

Are those concerns "getting himself in trouble" because I'm pretty familiar by now.

If I'm not prying... how are things on that front?

[ he shrugs. ]

We're good. He's got baggage but so do I.

The weights we carry are easier when you have someone else to help carry them.

[ Baggage. It's something she and Bruce both have, too. ]

Will he come tonight, do you think?

[ The glance she gives him is wry. ]

He may be a little peeved with me.

No, he's got . . . other plans.

[ kyle really hopes he doesn't steal a batmobile. ]

What do you mean by peeved?

He and the other Jason were fighting at Descendant. I... intervened.

[ And stepped on him. ]

But he also helped me track Bruce down, so I'm grateful for his help.

[ oh. kyle makes a face. ]

Yeah, they regularly have fights. I had to stop the last one.

They seem to have a great deal of turmoil.

I just hope there aren't any hard feelings.

[ kyle wisely does not comment on that because it's stating the obvious. ]

I doubt there will be. And anyway, more people should tell them they're idiots or they keep getting away with it.

I doubt think they're idiots. But I do wish they focused a little more on their positive commonalities than their negative ones.

[ She may as well wish the seas to dry and the sun to move backwards across the sky, for all the likelihood of that. ]

[ kyle has thoughts about it, of course. he's involved with jason. they share each other scars, their pain and their fears. so he knows better than to speak of it. instead he sighs, looking away. ]

When you're built upon a foundation of pain, how can you?

[ they learned after all, from bruce. ]

It's the basis of so many of her arguments with the Bruce of her world. Her glance finds the one who has come here, talking with the younger Jason across the room. ]

It's a choice, one we all make. One that's harder for some than others. But I refuse to believe happiness and hope is out of reach for anyone I love, or anyone living in the world.

[ his response comes easily. kyle's run as green lantern was a tragedy. from hal to alex and many others. the ring came to him built upon the bodies of the lost. but he also knows people have to choose otherwise.

and some people never do. ]

We face the day, Diana.

[ in brightest day, in blackest night. ]

They still need to decide if they want to.

[ She smiles at him over her drink. ]

Fortunate, then, to have a Green Lantern at my side.

[ like anyone, he's not immune to flattery, especially from wonder woman so he ducks his head a little. ]

But tonight is for fun, not for such heavy talk. Please, you should enjoy the party. There's some very good food to try, if you're hungry.
