It's Friday October 27th when this housewarming shindig happens at the townhouse in Central he's recently purchased for himself and with it being so close to Halloween, he decides to decorate it a little. Or maybe a lot. He's still trying to get the hang of this whole Bruce Wayne thing. Either way, the lower floor of the five-story townhouse is decorated for the spooky season and the one floor he'd prefer people to stick to since he's not the only one who lives here. There's food and refreshments available with something hopefully for everyone and if you're in the mood for something a little more spooky for a drink, there's this little guy lined up along one of the tables to be enjoyed, the flavor being a tart pomegranate with a touch of sweetness to it. Yes, it can also be alcoholic and yes, he has someone stationed there to ensure those of age to drink are the ones taking the alcoholic version of that. On your way in or out, don't forget to say hi to the concierge for the night and feel free to take your complimentary pumpkin bucket filled with candy he has for guests. Don't worry about checking the candy for trackers. It's not like he would ever do such a thing. 😇 Happy Housewarming Halloween. ooc notes: just a stupid little housewarming mingle thrown together where bruce makes an attempt to Do Something for his kiddos and friends he has here. Diana also lives within the townhouse and so friends of hers are welcome to stop by as well if she'd invite them. whoever the kiddos want to bring along with them are also welcome to stop by but please stick to the first floor where the shindig is or else bruce is going to be Disappointed aka i'm still figuring out the rest of the floors.

[ She sips at her drink, the tart pomegranate juice brightening her lips with red. ]

I'm glad you thought to do this.

( far as he can tell, they did.

at her pleasure at this having been a [successful] thing, he huffs a bit, easily slipping hands into his pockets. )

What? Make an effort to bring them into whatever world I have for myself here? Or host a party with good food and drinks?

[ She can still hear Kyle asking are you sure? and right now, watching him at the end of this night that he put together, she feels nothing but certain. ]

It's late. Shall we leave the clean-up to the morning?

( he's still not so sure if he'll do another of these again. it's... new for him to do. especially without alfred's help. )

Yeah. ( a scratch to his cheek. ) Just going to put the leftovers in the fridge at least. Don't want someone getting into all this when we're asleep.

( bear, he means. )

[ She sets her drink to the side and comes off the table to start collecting dishes. ]

He's sleeping. He was very good with the guests all evening, don't you think?

He likes the attention.

( and showing off his leather jacket, he figures. or that's what's bruce telling himself anyways.

covering a few plates, he takes them with him towards the kitchen, the fridge more than capable of keeping them what with there being so little in it to begin with. )

I told both of the Jasons to lay off bugging the place out of respect for your privacy and they seemed to agree.

[ She waits for him to set his plates in the fridge, then steps forward to add the ones she's carrying. They'll have leftovers for a few days, it seems. ]

The Jasons and I generally get along. [ Aside from when she'd scolded them at Descendant. ]

I think they both remember meeting me when they were Robin. They've been kind to me, in their own ways, since I got here.

I can't imagine any of them being disrespectful to you.

( the jasons, the tims, the dicks. disrespectful to him, on the other hand, well. he tries to not let it bother him, especially when he's having to compete against some other version of himself who has a tumultuous relationship with them all. )

It may yet happen. But the Jasons have already had a taste of what might happen if it does.

[ She's amused, but sympathetic. She's well aware the children treat her with respect while they berate Bruce for being and not being the man they know.

Well. Perhaps she got through to Jason.

Closing the refrigerator door, she looks back at Bruce. ]

If you're not too tired, would you like to come upstairs and have a glass of wine with me?

[batsymbol]

( for the most part, he doesn't let it get to him. but other times, he's just... not in the mood for it. for as nonchalant as he comes off, things actually get to him at times.

at her invite upstairs, he raises a brow as he looks over to her, then huffs a quiet laugh as he licks over his lips — a gentle scratch to his cheek in consideration. )

Yeah. I mean— wasn't really going to do much else.

Then come along.

[ Her glance travels to where the pup is snoozing, and warms. ]

Bear can come too, if you like.

( that almost suggests he might be up there for awhile.

a slow glance off in the pup's direction. )

I don't know if I want to wake him.

Then we'll leave the door cracked so he can come find us if he wakes.

[ After all, her apartment isn't difficult for even a small puppy to reach; just up two flights of stairs. Unlike Bruce's, hers is not decorated for Halloween, though the bowl of candy waits for the actual night. In the living room, the curtains are thrown wide, letting the light of the nearly-full moon shine in as Diana goes to open a bottle of red wine she lifts from a cupboard. ]

Did you have a nice chat with Kyle?

[batsymbol]

( giving another glance to the sleeping pup, bruce follows on after diana, hands shoved in his pockets as they go. he knows what her place looks like. obviously. yet it's such a stark contrast to how his own currently looks what with the lack of lavish decorations and all.

at the mention of kyle, he looks over to her. )

Eavesdropping, were you?

That's more in your line than mine.

[ She pours two glasses of a wine she's found that reminds her a little of home, berry-red and just a little more sweet than dry, and offers him one. ]

But I do have eyes, and I saw you speaking with him.

[batsymbol]

( taking the glass in hand, he raises a brow to her. amused. )

Nothing bad about you, I promise.

[ She laughs at that, a little. ]

I wasn't concerned.

[ Taking her own glass, she leads him into the living room, where a few low lights don't manage to drown out the moonlight flooding through the window. Diana curls into a seat on the couch and waits for him to join her. ]

Look at that. The moon is nearly full.

( while a few had decided to come wearing costumes or something costume-like [jesus christ, jason] to the party, bruce had opted to simply keep it simple with wearing black. black dress shirt with sleeves rolled at the elbows, black slacks, black tie. all black for a man who lurks in the shadows. maybe he should have gone as a shadow.

taking a seat there with her on the couch, drink in hand, he glances around, fingers tapping gently at the side of the glass he holds between his legs, hunched over some. )

Hunters moon, is it?

That's what they call it. The last full moon of this season.

[ She looks up at the waxing moon, the light of it spilling over them both. Bright enough to be seen even with the many lights of Central all around them. ]

I was born under a hunter's moon, with Cassiopeia in the sky. Although born might not be quite the right word.

[batsymbol]

( slowly, a curious turn of his head, eyes soft as always with her as he looks to her. )

No?

[ She looks back at him, resting her elbow on the back of the couch and her head on her hand, and smiles, small. ]

No.

There are no men on Themyscira. There had not been children for thousands of years. But my mother so desired a daughter that she molded a baby from clay taken from the heart of the island, and on a night of wind and storm and a hunter's moon, she prayed that the little clay child be brought to life.

And the gods answered. They granted her a miracle. Life from clay. A daughter with no father.

( a slow blink — a moment to process what she's said with gaze drifting off. )

Is that... normally how it's... done?

[ Her lips quirk. ]

No. I was Themyscira's only child. There have been no others born of clay.

[batsymbol]

Oh.

( it's said softly, gaze dropping down to his drink there between his legs. )

Jason... mentioned a Donna?

[ She looks back out at the moon, wishing she could see the stars beyond, the ones that remind her of Donna's suit, of her sister's hair. ]

My sister. She came to be in a... different way, born neither of Hippolyta's flesh nor of clay. And I have a third little sister as well, Cassie. Wonder Girl. She is not of Themyscira, and her mother is not my mother, but she earned the right to be called Amazon long ago.
