What: Valentine’s Day season at the Descendant Karaoke Bar and Lounge
When: 2/1 to 2/13, before the February game event
Where: Central City

[It’s early February and even a place as gritty and tough as Central City isn’t immune to the Valentine’s Day mood.

If one visits the Descendant around this time of the year, one may notice that some of the Gritty the mascot figures are holding fake roses and Cupid bows and arrows. Don’t worry. They’re safe. Really.

In addition, there are two types of songs getting a ton of play. On one side you got romantic and sweet songs such as Truly, Madly, Deeply, My Heart Will Go On, and As Long As You Love Me. On the other side is quite the opposite. These songs about heartbreak. A lot of them also are blow-out torch songs. Classic hits such as You Give Love A Bad Name, I’m Still Standing, and Should I Stay or Should I Go are getting performed with at least as much enthusiasm as the love songs, if not more. Even mobsters sometimes have rough love lives and need to blow off steam.

So whatever your feelings are about Valentine’s Day this year, come drop by for a drink, some entertainment and maybe a bar game or two. Chances are, you’ll be in decent company. Besides, what else could possibly happen in Central City this month?]

It's not just for me, this time.... Maybe something with coffee, or coffee-flavored?

That sounds good. Make it nice and sludgy.

[Mayuko settles herself on a stool, easing her feet out of her heels for a spell. It's been a while since she's danced. Not at the inauguration ball, she'd been a cat at the time. The Halloween ball at Loki's Orpherium? That seems right. Time sure does fly.]

How have things been out here? Haven't had any of those meteorites close, have you?

[Jason starts to gather all the ingredients needed for Mayuko’s order and starts making it]

Luckily, no. Things were relatively quiet here for once. You got caught up in any of that stuff?

Not in Sunset Falls directly. But they're causing a stir in the region.

[She leans both elbows on the bartop to rest her head on her hands.]

Haven't heard of anyone bumping into one and using it for "good" yet.

Same. You think it’s a sign of something bigger about to happen?

Yeah. When I asked about them, the bosslady didn't have much to say. Except that this is what it feels like when new pantheons are born. And that she's intrigued by them.

[Jason furrows his brow as he keeps mixing]

Where there's power introduced, there follows the score of ways it can be corrupted. Even by the most well-intentioned person.

Naturally. Absolute power corrupts absolutely is a multiverse truth.

Is it? Well, that's a bother.

[There might be a universe where that is not the case! Probably one where porcines soar through the air, to boot.

For now, she admires Jason's uniform construction of the mudslides. Not even the doom-and-gloom talk can dampen this bout of goodwill for long.]
