It's still chilly this early in the spring, especially in the shady wooded venu, but with many of the trees in bloom and lights hung among their boughs, it's quite pretty.

A few seats in the front row are occupied by objects rather than people: Thor's axe Stormbreaker, a handwritten book of faerie tales, and a book titled What Is Mako? by one Gast Faremis.

Eros, god of love, stands ready to perform the ceremony.

The men in question have yet to arrive. Their plan is to come together. Eventually, soft piano music fills the air, ethereal and mysterious. Sephiroth and Loki enter the glade, hands clasped as they slowly walk the aisle. Loki is dressed in a dark green dress, lined with silver trimmings. He’s even traded his gold helm for a silver circlet, but it has small horns attached to the front. Sephiroth wears a simpler black suit, but his hair is pulled back into a series of intricate braids.

Is that Lady Gaga you hear? Well, not quite. It's the local Lady Gaga cover band, but they're pretty good, right?

There is a dance floor for those who are so inclined, and a generous refreshments table for those who might not be. Loki has splurged on all kinds of appetisers and snacks to satisfy the pickiest eaters. There might be things that you’ve never seen on Earth such as edible gold and stardust or mead that is reminiscent of the past. A chocolate fountain features in its center.

Loki has also left little gifts for the attendees. A little snow globe. If shaken, it’ll show the recipient a fond memory.

[Sephiroth squeezes back.]

I chose you ages ago. Now we simply make it known very clearly.

[ with a hint of a tease. ]

Everyone is watching.

I believe that's the point, isn't it?

[He's prepared!! Probably. Definitely. It'll be fine.]

[ he chuckles softly, squeezing his hand once more. eros clears his throat as he begins the pronouncements. loki is barely paying attention, completely focused on sephiroth. this is it. this is his moment. this is his dream.

this man is his dream. his future. ]

There could be no one left and I'd still do this with you.

[unkindled_madness]

[Sephiroth is not wasting his glances on Eros. His focus is on Loki... and maybe he'd like to imagine it's just them.]

With the planet as our witness?

[dothelokimotion]

It's as good as any.

Still . . . thank you. For doing this with me.

It means I get to make you very happy. And there is nothing I like better.

I am . . . very happy.

[ eros finally finishes up. it's nearly time. ]

Good. That's what I want.

[He takes a breath. This is about the two of them, no one else.]

[ it's time.

loki takes both of sephiroth's hands now, facing him. his heart quivers. ]

When we met, I saw so much of myself in you. Your loneliness, your difficulty. The world must have seemed so small for you. They made your world too small. I don't know why it struck me so. That you should have a world for yourself. That you should discover all there is. The beauties, the tragedies, the moments . . . I was at my end, but you were beginning.

And then. You took me with you. It stopped being your journey and it was our journey. Our lives were entwined. I couldn't see a life without you. And I'd never want to. I want to orbit you, now and forever. I know you feel I brought the world to you, but you breathed life back into me.

[ loki leans down to press a kiss to his knuckles. ]

I want us to walk in sunlight and starlight together.

[unkindled_madness]

[Sephiroth lifts their joined hands to return the kiss.]

...before I met you... I looked down on all of this. Love was something I thought I'd never be granted, so I decided it was foolish to prize it. You saw through me entirely. You saw me, and it made me want again. It made me want... you. The longer you stayed by my side, the harder it was to comprehend a universe where you were unwanted, because everything you are, every flaw you think you have, is worthy of devotion.

And I know that everything I am has its place with you. You are my equal, my choice, my significant one. I would spend eternity in your gravity.

[dothelokimotion]

[ his choice. loki's eyes go wet for a moment as he moves closer. eros wraps the cloth around their hands in tradition of the handfasting and proclaims.

husband and husband.

to which loki finally reaches for sephiroth so he can kiss him. ]

[unkindled_madness]

[Sephiroth draws him into it, joined hands between them. Never mind the audience, this is going to be a proper kiss, in case the words failed to communicate something. They belong with each other, to each other.]

[dothelokimotion]

[ the audience, the scenery, it's all faded away. all that matters is that they've done it. they're truly married. the one thing loki always felt would escape his grasp. being someone's choice, someone's only has finally come true.

this is his sephiroth. his husband. ]

[unkindled_madness]

[Sephiroth stays close, murmuring:]

So, how does it feel, husband?

[dothelokimotion]

[ his eyes are wide and bright, the tips of his ears a deep pink. ]

It's everything I wanted.

[unkindled_madness]

[He smiles wide at that, brushing his free hand over the tip of Loki's ear.]

A triumph, then.

[dothelokimotion]

[ he smiles, leaning into his touch. ]

My husband.

[unkindled_madness]

Shall we depart to our celebration?

[dothelokimotion]

Yes, I believe that sounds ideal.

[unkindled_madness]

Together, then.

[Squeezing Loki's hand, he turns back towards the aisle.]

[dothelokimotion]

Together.

[ to their new lives. ]

[Should they be running? Should he carry Loki? He feels like he has a lot of energy. He swings their hands between them.]
