[ Much like Loki's last party-venture, this is set up very much in the same vein. a large ballroom for dancing needs. Tables and waiters passing around hors d'oeuvres and drinks. At the entrance of the ball room, there’s a fancy mask waiting for you if you don’t have one already. There’s a strict dress code for the event this time and Loki expects everyone to dress accordingly.

The masks also have a spell attached to them. They’ll afford you complete privacy. No one will recognize you under the mask. Unless, of course, you take it off and let them know. Perfect for the party guest who may want to indulge without causing a fuss. Hit up a partner and see where the evening takes you.

This event wouldn’t be complete without candy, of course. There are candies arranged on the tables in all types and colors. In front of them is a small description regarding each kind of candy. Be sure to read them carefully, as Loki has added a little . . . extra to the sweets, to give them a little . . . zing. ]

[ ripley plucks a black mask and he places it on top of his face and it's like he's a nicely dressed stranger. then he removes it and the recognition sinks in again. ]

( oh, god, eddie hopes he's pointing a ripley and not a total stranger. and he's right! )

That's crazy. Magic is bananas, man.

[exasperation]

Right? It is kind of cool. I'd like to keep one but I don't think the guy in charge would like that. And it's probably like Cinderella magic. Doesn't work outside of the theatre or stops when the event is over.

[frenchkissed]

( naturally, he tries one on and transforms. )

[ ripley grins. ]

( oh, this is great. )

Hey, stranger. ( the 'stranger' winks so goddamn egregiously. ) You come here alone?

[ ripley isn't good at suave, but he does his best, a twinkle in his eyes. ]

It looks that way. I was hoping to find a nice guy around.

[frenchkissed]

( eddie? suave? less likely than you'd think. )

[ his cheeks go a bright pink and ripley can't stop smiling. ]

Jackets? That's amazing. I, uh, love jackets.

I'm Ripley. Ripley, uhh, Arkenstone.

[frenchkissed]

You want this jacket?

( he begins shrugging out of his fancy blue coat, which doesn't really go with ripley's outfit, but it is a jacket. )

I've got, like, a million more. At my store. Which I, Eddie Bauer, own.

[exasperation]

[ oh. ripley takes it gratefully. ]

Wow, that's so amazing.

[frenchkissed]

( after handing over his jacket, he immediately takes off the mask. back to reality. )

I can't do this.

I've been living a lie.

I'm actually Eddie Brock. And I don't own a million overpriced JCPenneys.

Whew. Needed to get that off my chest...

[ ripley bursts out laughing. ]

Well, you held on for pretty long. I was getting into this Eddie who owns jackets.

[frenchkissed]

Yeah, that Arkenstone dude sounded pretty charming, too. Shame.

Hey, you want something to eat, or drink, or otherwise consume?

[exasperation]

Sure. I think there are some chocolates?

[frenchkissed]

Oh, yeah, that's perfect.

( this party has everything! )

You like milk or dark?

[exasperation]

Milk sounds great.

One plate of chocolate, coming right up.

[exasperation]

Thank you. Uh, do you want me to get you something?

Venom too?

[frenchkissed]

Uh, maybe a table? A table could be good?

For... sitting?

[exasperation]

You got it.

[ and that's easy enough for ripley, who has finding powers. he can locate a nice table, close enough for food, but not so crowded and bustling. ]

[frenchkissed]

( finding chocolate is easy enough for eddie, too. within minutes, he's sitting beside ripley with a plate piled high with white chocolate squares and two bottles of chocolate beer — which honestly sounds a little gross — clutched in venom's friendly tentacles. )

White chocolate is sort of like milk chocolate, right?

[exasperation]

Close enough.

[ he's not that picky, he's just happy to be here. with eddie. he blushes a little. ]
