[ Much like Loki's last party-venture, this is set up very much in the same vein. a large ballroom for dancing needs. Tables and waiters passing around hors d'oeuvres and drinks. At the entrance of the ball room, there’s a fancy mask waiting for you if you don’t have one already. There’s a strict dress code for the event this time and Loki expects everyone to dress accordingly.

The masks also have a spell attached to them. They’ll afford you complete privacy. No one will recognize you under the mask. Unless, of course, you take it off and let them know. Perfect for the party guest who may want to indulge without causing a fuss. Hit up a partner and see where the evening takes you.

This event wouldn’t be complete without candy, of course. There are candies arranged on the tables in all types and colors. In front of them is a small description regarding each kind of candy. Be sure to read them carefully, as Loki has added a little . . . extra to the sweets, to give them a little . . . zing. ]

Nothing. Luckily. He helped get me out.

I could move so fast and make things around me speed up in some way. Thus boom. But I wasn't great at chemistry.

I guess you were literally moving molecules so fast you could cause a reaction.

[The Flashes certainly can do a lot with their superspeed]

Yeah, I guess. It was terrifying. I felt so... out of control.

[Mark shuddered to remember it.]

Honestly, that's why I'm enjoying it here. Less people with powers clustered together. Hell, met you, and that's awesome too.

[Jason laughs. His own meta ability seems easy enough to not trigger. He would have to consciously think about summoning his swords in order for them to appear]

[Not just that, but the summoning was probably some form of magic, which was so beyond Mark. At the moment.]

Yeah, but the question is whether I could do better? I'm guessing not.

I need to figure out what to do with the party now. I mean, I haven't been to a real party since, well, college. Unless you count working concerts as going to a party.

Oh? You were stage crew?

Nah, photographer for the band. Went to school with the frontwoman, and she wanted good promos for their site and album liners and bandcamp and all of that.

[And photographers don't always get to party at the parties they go to.]

I guess that makes sense. Was it any fun?

A lot of fun. They were all such warm, energetic people. Spent a lot of time with the drummer.

[They'd been sober buddies, so that had helped.]

That's great. You're still a photographer or something else now?

I am still a photographer. Hard to get buy when I'm starting over all over again, but that's life.

Make lemonade out of lemons and all that stuff. Anything you specialize in?

[Exactly. This guy gets it. Mark smiles under his mask and nods as he thinks about it.]

I love architectural work. And nature. But not, like, animals? Plants. Landscapes, things like that.

Animals must be harder to get a good shot of. The other stuff sounds nice though.

Oh man, they're a literal pain. Okay, there was this ONE, but that was actually a shapeshifter. And the other time. But that was... I don't even know how to explain Sleeper.

[Jason can't help but grin. He knows exactly what Sleeper is like]

What's your impression of them?

Of Sleeper? Oh man. Um, definitely gets too far in the chocolate too near his brother [And that blew his mind to read] when the kid has a camera.

I saw that most. It was pretty funny. I like that cat.

[Said cat makes for a great book club buddy too]
