[Some are bound to notice something off about Sephiroth. It's unusual for him to miss meetings or show up late for work--but not so unusual that it's never happened before. This world has its stressors, and maybe he's just going through something again.

During the same time period, Fantastic has been making news thwarting a small rogue's gallery of fresh new villains. But apart from "Shadow Flare" being pretty tall, it isn't the natural conclusion to think that Sephiroth might be behind the mask. One, he's always professed a confusion and even disdain for costumes and alter egos. Two, all of the fights are happening in or around Central, and Sephiroth only travels there when borrowing Loki's teleporter. Absolutely no reason to connect the two.]

[Sephiroth reaches for Loki, his grip tight. Loki is still here. He can be anything around Loki, and he'll still be here.]

[ loki doesn't mind the tightness since it's clear he's understood. and he's wanted. his heart feels settled at that and he hopes it gives sephiroth the strength he needs. ]

[He's okay. More than okay, he's safe. When was that ever the case before?

Sephiroth breaks the kiss to just hold Loki close, letting the contact steady him.]

[ loki settles against him with a pleased sigh. ]

[...Loki needs rest. Sephiroth shifts so they can lie back together.]

[ loki curls up around him. ]

Are you sure? I know you didn't want to rest.

[unkindled_madness]

I can be here.

[He just won't sleep. Easy.]

[ okay then. because he definitely does need rest. mental magic is always a stressful task and it takes little for him to close his eyes and relax against sephiroth with a sigh. ]

[Maybe it would be better if Sephiroth could let his mind rest, but as much as Loki is to him, he isn't a balm to everything. Right now, some part of Sephiroth insists on remaining vigilant. He trusts that Loki's work will keep him from losing more time, but... what if this Fixer noticed?

He did not close the bedroom door, which has left them vulnerable to... cat. Loki the cat has been somewhat shy around Loki the Asgardian, but this is too tempting an opportunity.]

[ loki's eyes flicker open blearily, as if sensing his approach, though he doesn't look up. ]

Who is that?

Just the cat.

[Said cat hops up onto the bed. Loki can probably feel it padding across the mattress in search of the ideal spot.]

[ oh. loki smiles faintly, reaching out to the cat. ]

[The cat comes up to sniff his hand, then rubs its face lightly against his fingers.]

[ still smiling quietly, loki scratches under its chin. ]

It's much smaller than the cats I knew.

[Sephiroth quirks an eyebrow. Loki, this is a maine coon.]

It's quite large for a cat.

Our cats were much larger. You could ride them.

[unkindled_madness]

...did you? Ride them, I mean.

[dothelokimotion]

I did, a few times. It's not the easiest thing to do.

I imagine not.

Once this one is more comfortable with you, he may try to ride you.

[ loki chuckles. ]

He certainly does it to me.

He must be very fond of you. Like all Lokis are.
