[ The park has been commandeered to host all kinds of fun activities, stalls and various things for families to do. Colourful green tents and banners, all emblazoned with Loki’s symbolic helm are littered all throughout the park with helpful signs navigating tourists and locals to the myriad of potential amusements for everyone to enjoy.

First, you should help yourself to one of the gift bags. Full of goodies such as Loki bobble heads, a plastic helm tailored to your head size and a green snake as a pin. If you’re not keen on these and try to dispose of them, they will find a magical way to cling to you. Perhaps if you find a creative way of getting rid of it, the spell may fail.

But don’t get caught up in the goodies. There are plenty of games and competitions for people to try out! For instance, there is a dagger throwing competition where you can win a protective runestone made by Loki himself. The daggers are made of rubber and you’re required to hit the moving Thor-gets — targets.

May your aim be true.

Or perhaps you’d like something a little less challenging. There’s a cosplay competition where the “best dressed Loki” wins a free dinner and a chance to shake hands with the mayor. Even if you lack the costume, there are bins of convenient Loki costumes (ranging from poor quality to high) for you to try out.

Do your best Loki impression and win that free dinner!

And because this is Sunset Falls, there is a best bowtie competition for your dogs to try out. The winner gets a one-of-a-kind bowtie from Loki.

Of course, it’s not all games. There are vendors with all kinds of food, ranging from corndogs to cotton candy. You can even pick up some flavoured boba tea or lemonade as you wander through the festival. There are even small plays artifully re-enacted around so you can get a glimpse at Loki's life.

So come by! Enjoy the festivities! ]

The strictness of the facilities were fairly well known. Pulling off a swindle or a victory was an inarguable feat.

Not unlike military outfits, hmm? We just followed a command of our choosing. Empire being rotten certainly had nothing to do with it.

You know I was in the military for a hair's breadth, yes? Extremely high ranking. Quit. Ran straight for flouting authority.

Maybe I have it backwards though. Maybe you were wiser. A lot harder for me to get that feeling back. Being on an entirely different world helps.

Mmm. You military types are better at holding your feelings aloft. I never was much good at that.

I would have said that was the opposite of my expertise. But I have been... learning.

Broader skill set is always better. I’m getting better at letting people see mine.

Both I suppose. Didn’t share either much at home.

[A lie to himself. He’s always been helpful, so much so it put him at risk, so he learned to present standoffish.]

There's no need to be visible to everyone. It's something earned.

[ Balthier smiles. ]

Agreed. I'm fortunate to have had more people earn it than usual.

[ He likes this world, chaos and near ends of the universe not withstanding. ]

[ Balthier's expression goes softer, warmer. ]

Better than I ever could have expected. Loki is well?

[ He won't ask as directly, but he knows the two are close. ]

[Sephiroth nods. It's more complicated than a simple yes or no; Loki has had many losses of late, but they have each other, and that much is strong. And also personal.

He gestures instead to the festival around them.]

This is part of his pact with the goddess Isis, which evidently prevents the town's curse from killing him.

[So that's good.]

[ Balthier winces. ]

I do prefer my loved ones alive, yes. I imagine he's hard to keep dead, but that resurrection can't be pleasant.
