I knew it was over when the soundman said I wish we were still in June. [open]
Who: Tim Drake
overlyprecocious + whoever else
What: July catch-all
When: July, maybe late June
Where: Descendant attic safehouse, Central City, maybe other places
Content Warnings: none yet
attic safehouse | open to those with access
Technically speaking, Tim doesn't need to be using the safehouse like he is, but Jason has a good thing going with a hideaway that (hopefully) the Alliance isn't aware of yet. It's nice to be able to visit and be somewhere that Fantastic's goons don't know about, which is why he's dropping in tonight. Once he does the basic stuff - in this case, making sure the area still looks secure, has a good supply of emergency food, and locating Sleeper's hidden chocolate stash so he can tuck away a few new bars with it - he settles in with his laptop to chill and definitely not doomscroll current news to see how much worse Fantastic's making the country lately.
Central City at Night, Bullying the Guards | open to anyone
Robin doesn't usually fly alone officially, and when he is on his own he's somewhat more likely to be in surveillance mode, not fighting. It's how he was taught back home, where Robin is almost always accompanied by Batman, Nightwing, and/or Batgirl, or working with the Team. He's not trained to be a solo act.
He just happens to be one tonight, when he finds some of Fantastic's guards hassling some kid who may or may not even be Starfallen, who even knows? Robin's not letting that stand, regardless. And the good news is, their power dampeners barely affect him, given that his abilities are barely combative in nature and he's used to fighting powerless. So one moment, they're being assholes with a little taste of power, and the next, they're getting their asses kicked by a fourteen-year-old with a bo staff.
"Just wondering, did you read about the goons following fascist ideologies as a kid and think, that's gonna be me?"

Attic Safehouse
He quietly unlocks and opens the door.

It kind of doesn't look like he even bothered to glance up to see who came in, though that's a lie. He does glance up quickly enough to identify who came in, and there's an unexpanded bo staff near his hand if it comes down to it.
no subject
"Hey. Something up?" He says before walking over to the kitchenette cabinets and take inventory.
no subject
One thing this place used to have going for it was that it wasn’t under direct invasion like home. He misses when it was just deeply concerning and sketchy instead of openly turning fascist.

Attic safehouse
Nico’s half asleep and comfy, still in his jacket and jeans. He stirs a little when he hears rustling in the room, picking up his head a few inches to blink blurry eyes at the room. He already has a bad case of bedhead. “‘im?”
no subject
Well. He was planning to tell Nico at least some things. “Hey. Didn’t mean to wake you.”
no subject
Nico was absolutely asleep, but he’s not going to admit that in case it’s still early.
Then where he is connects with who he’s talking to. “What are you doing here?”
no subject
He sits down on one of the bunks, facing Nico. “Jason gave me permission to use this safehouse a while ago.”
no subject
Nico’s here often, sometimes four nights a week. He probably would have seen Tim by now, if he’d come before. “Jason’s cool. You don’t have to worry that he’s doing it to take advantage of your powers or anything. He just doesn’t mind helping people.”

the city at night
Things still aren't the same out here however, so Donnie's fallen back on old habits and stuck to higher ground for getting around, sticking to the shadows like a good ninja do. A big pain, really, when he'd much rather be zipping around with his battle shell's flight capabilities, but he figures it's better not to take chances, especially when the guards are still a clear presence and potential threat.
Case in point.
Donnie perches on the ledge of the roof above as he watches this kid take these guards to town. He's mainly drawn by the use of a bō- after all, it's not often he comes across someone else who has similar tastes in weaponry!

Casting a look up and down the street even has he does a quick consultation of immediate signals in the area in case anything had been sent out by the guards.

Donnie finally makes his way down, dropping neatly into a crouch not far from the pile of guards, his own bō tucked behind his battle shell.
"Nice job there, by the way."

But tonight he decides to check out the 'family-owned' gym the other Jason had told him about. He hasn't had a chance to do any dedicated training for a few days, and he needs to get the nervous energy out somehow. Having ditched the guards, Dick slips into the gym shortly after sundown.
"Alright," he says to himself. "Let's see what we have to work with here."
no subject
If he’s surprised to have a visitor, he’s pretty good at hiding it. “Hi, Dick.”
no subject
It's weird to see the other teenager who was, as far as he knew, just a normal teenager. But once he met the other Tim, it wasn't too hard to put two and two together. Jason had told him there had been duplicates.
Still, it throws him for a second.
no subject
He does a little flip coming off the bars he was using for chin-ups, partly to show off a little and partly because it's something his Dick taught him. The acrobatics don't come as naturally to him as to Graysons, but he's put in the work. And it's a way of quietly announcing who one of his trainers was.
"Sorry I didn't warn you who I was, but we weren't exactly in a secure area before."
no subject
"It's okay. Better to be on the safe side."
He looks at Tim, one of his appraising but not judgemental looks. Cataloging the similarities and differences between this Tim and Rook, observing his stance, cadence, gestures. Most people wouldn't notice, but most people weren't trained by Batman.
He nods at the bar.
"That was one of mine, wasn't it?"

Assuming, of course, the safehouse is empty.
When he spots Tim there, he quietly strikes guitar from his mental to-do list... and after some consideration, pencils in a round of playfully giving Jason some shit, by way of Tim Drake.
After all, if Jason's basically his brother now, so is Tim. Right?
"Hey, Timbo," he says with a relaxed smile, setting his guitar case off to the side as he approaches the couch. "How's my favorite brother-in-law?"
no subject
Hold...
Hold....
Application successfully re-launched.
"Your what?"
no subject
"Well, I'm Sleeper's brother, after all. And you're Jason's brother. That's how this works, right?"
no subject
Look, no one ever fully explained what Jason and Sleeper's relationship is to him. He knows Jason moved in with them, but he's flying kind of blind otherwise.
