[He's not really sure who Mr. Terrific is? Unless it's Harold's name in another world. He's never seemed interested in coming up with a secret identity of his own.]

a glance to tim, he recalls the suit he'd been in, before he looks back over to dick, hands in those pockets of his. )
Nitinol?
( he's asking what the suit's made of or has in it, naturally. )
no subject
You have him in your world, too? That's great! He does really good work.
[He's distracted by Bruce's question, giving Haley another scratch before handing her back to Tim.]
Need to get the mask off, at least. [Which means spirit gum remover. Something puppies should stay away from.] Anyway, that sounds right. It's thin enough to wear under my regular clothing, though it means I'm wearing a lot more light jackets and such back home.
[Blockbuster'd had a hit out on him, after all.]

That's the tradition of vigilantism, though.

and that's when he falls silent, as if unsure what else to say in the moment. tim had invited him over and he'd gone along with it, sure. but now he doesn't know if he's overstayed his welcome or if tim and dick have things they need to tend to around the place β schedules and whatever else.
so he stands there. quiet. and it's maybe in that moment where he truly does come off as a much younger bruce wayne. one who doesn't yet have the persona down when around others. )

[He makes a tsk sound at the back of his throat, something he definitely picked up from Alfred.]
Sit. Have you had anything to drink? I can make coffee if Tim hasn't already started some. Or tea. Or we have water and juice and...probably some sort of soda. [Probably whatever was on sale when one of them went to the store.] How're you handling the changes here? I assume you're getting tech set up as much as you can.
[He does note how awkward Bruce is coming off. It's almost adorable, honestly. Brucie wasn't as well-formed when he was a kid, but he doesn't remember Bruce being this uncertain about anything other than taking in a child.]

( a hand lifted to accompany the slight shake of his head in regards to both the sitting and offer of a drink.
the question regarding being here suddenly β the getting as much tech set up as he can has him look rather pensive as he pockets that hand again. he's no interest in affiliating himself with either of the guilds here nor does he intend to hang around the hotel for however long he's supposedly welcome to.
the changes are certainly changes. especially when it comes to suddenly being able to do things he hadn't been capable of back in gotham; still getting used to that. )
Can't say I'm pleased with having to start from scratch again.

[Tim's able to get his own drink, certainly, but Dick asks because he's at the fridge. And getting out a refillable water bottle of his own that he put in there before going on patrol.]
[The look he casts Bruce is sympathetic as he takes a drink.]
You're not wrong. I've had to do it a couple of times. Not quite this much, no, but similar. It's incredibly annoying, though at least we aren't on our own here.

[He's happy to keep Haley occupied with scritches while Dick and Bruce talk Adult Things(TM).]
Like people keep telling me, you have a support network.

a glance to tim, he looks down. )
Yeah.
( though it doesn't sound very convincing, in all honesty. )

[Dick ducks back into the fridge for a can of soda, walking over to hand it to Tim. Because he COULD throw it, but that's rude. Even if he knows Tim could catch it.]
[He steps over to Bruce, reaching out to squeeze the man's shoulder. It's not a long touch, because he knows Bruce doesn't always do with that. But it's comfort in a way he might allow.]
I know it doesn't seem like it now. Especially if, as I suspect, your world doesn't have much in the way of heroes as yet. But you don't have to go it alone. You never have had to. Alfred's always been there to back you up. There will be others, even if you never find your world's versions of us. But, here and now, you DO have us.
no subject
And we're annoying and unlikely to leave you alone.
no subject
Apparently.
( the not being or leaving him alone part, he means. )
I should get going.
( the man is still largely nocturnal and tired. )
no subject
All right. You look like you could use some rest as it is. If you need anything, though, think about giving one of us a call, all right? We're not going to get anywhere here without each other.
