Of course we do.

[ the answer comes easily. he sighs. ]

When we were facing Thanos, I revealed the Tessaract. That I took from Asgard. Thor called me the worst. He . . . didn't have the chance to say otherwise. I know — I know that he didn't mean it. I know he'd take it back if he could.

But. . . it was true.

It wasn't.

[Sephiroth carefully tucks a strand of Loki's hair back behind his ear.]

That's just... a feeling.

[ loki leans into the touch for a moment. ]

I wanted to ask but it was too painful. For both of us. And now I've missed my chance.

[unkindled_madness]

[Sephiroth hesitates. He doesn't really like Thor. Doesn't like the way he seems to appear and disappear from Loki's life without concern. Sephiroth isn't so certain that won't happen again, but he doesn't want to suggest it.]

...maybe he missed his as well. But his opinion doesn't define you either.

No.

[ and yet, it was thor thinking he could be more that pushed loki at all. even in the islands, knowing thor's last words were ringing in his head, he tried. he's trying.

when will it pay off? when will he feel free of his own crippling self? ]

No, it doesn't.

[ loki smiles faintly, placing a hand on sephiroth's cheek. ]

Your opinion is worth everything. You're my world.

[Sephiroth smiles softly.]

Perhaps we form one together. A world.

I like that idea.

[Sephiroth lays a hand atop Loki's.]

Both of us together. At our best and our worst.

[ he shivers, letting his doubts melt away. ]
