[ finally, finally. he steps back into sunset falls, sending a quick message to sephiroth that he's coming home. teleporting on his own magic is taxing as was being in arcadia and dodging all their technology and mages, but he had done it and passed their scrutiny.

he takes in a deep breath before knocking on the door. when the door opens, loki looks sheepish, smiling. ]

Surprise.

[The door is hauled open almost instantly.]

Why are you even knocking?

[And he reaches to grab Loki by the shirt and pull him inside.]

[ loki lets a laugh bubble up as he slips his arms around sephiroth's neck. ]

For the surprise!

[Sephiroth snorts.]

You told me you were coming.

[He lets the door fall shut behind them and winds his arms around Loki, holding firm. He's here.]

[ his work had piled up since his recovery at arcadia, so loki had a lot of catching up to do. he still had to convince officials about letting go of dst, make sure lokidays were properly integrated into the sunset falls calendar. he also goes to check on the hellmouth because it's important to ensure the careful balance of magic remains in check.

he was also going around the town, trying to find a good location for the new magic community center. he finds a small area, well connected but unused, pursing his lips and thinking it over. he glances at whoever is nearby. ]

What do you think? A good spot for the community?

[ Aurican had yet to make a choice on the guilds but he certainly made a choice in his living situation. He lived half of the time in the Diadem Hotel and the other half in the wild, looking for a suitable lair as all dragons are meant to have. When he came to Sunset Falls and learn the city’s tradition of practicing sorcery and magic, he knew he had to make the city his home. Until he made a choice which guild to join (or not to join at all), he will arrive Sunset Falls early morning to explore and inquire.

Aurican is exploring an area of Sunset Falls, where a portion of the city looks unused and abandoned. He’s surprised someone asked him for his opinion. Aurican glances back at the building. ]

To be used for what?

[ hm. he senses . . . something. magic, certainly. but something else as well. ]

As a magical community center. A place for practitioners and learners to gather.

[ Aurican liked that. ]

So there will be tutors there? Can I get one?

[ he takes stormbreaker to the park to train. there's always something around but it's unlikely that people will be there. he sets stormbreaker on the ground for a moment, pensive.

why had thor left his axe here? to protect loki? to make up for his failings?

he wonders why thor never asked him to go back to their world. their reality. loki would have refused, of course. there's nothing back there for him anymore and he chose sephiroth. but . . . thor should have asked. he should have wanted loki back, shouldn't he?

why didn't he want loki back?

korg had said, you don't understand how much thor needed you, but it was clearly a lie. a falsehood to soothe loki's anger. he pushes it aside and places his hand on stormbreaker. for a moment, he can feel it. the crackle of lightning, the call of thunder. but what actually happens is stormbreaker lets out a shockwave, knocking loki flat and anyone else nearby. ]

Oof. How undignified.

[ if someone is around, feel free to complain. ]

[ and of course, he needed to ensure that the theatre was performing. it seemed to have lost some profits, due to the lack of manpower and loki's absence but he hopes it won't be a lasting issue.

he decides to unveil a musical month. big props, special effects, the usual flair. perhaps it'll also distract the citizens of central city, give them a good time.

that being said, loki does smile as he releases "ROGERS: THE MUSICAL" to audiences. someone is bound to enjoy it. and it'll probably annoy the avengers, which is also a win in loki's case. he glances at whoever is near. ]

You should go see it. I guarantee it'll be . . . entertaining.

[Dana's been lurking around the Opherium since she got word that Loki had been allowed to leave Arcadia, hoping he'd show up. She wasn't expecting him to appear while she was looking into a new show out of genuine curiosity, though.

[She turns to him and giggles.]

I really should, so I can compare it to Batman: the Musical.

[She sobers a little and glances in the direction of his office.]

Though I wanted to talk to you about... stuff that's more related to your other job.

I should do that one too.

[ anything to stick it to bruce, that bastard. he follows his gaze before giving her a polite gesture with his arm, to go forward. ]

By all means. To my office.

[She raises an eyebrow.]

Oh, you know it? And him?

Well, we can continue the conversation there.

[She walks- not teleports- to the office. Trying to keep a lower profile still.]

[ even though loki and sephiroth disagreed on whether they were loki's friends or not, loki is not ungrateful. even if it didn't come to pass, their help and support meant something and he should reward them accordingly.

which he does with a small get together at loki's old apartment with drinks and appetizers for people to drink and mingle. and loki will be there to thank them personally with a smile that is pretty genuine. mostly. ]

[The smile probably isn't genuine for David, is it? Well, that's okay, because David is beaming at Loki.]

I suppose a welcome home is in order. And of course, we all should have known you'd manage it on your own.

[ loki nearly preens. ]

Of course. But I'm not ungrateful.

So, got to ask since I'm learning this late... What sort of house warming gift should I get you?

[It would be rude to show up to a party without supplemental refreshments. Mayuko's brought a small pack of summer pale ales and some Caesar salad spears, to keep things light.

Mayuko herself is more light-hearted out of the office, out of the public eye. Work is work, and everything else is everything else. If there are repercussions coming for her public complaint, that's an issue for future!Mayuko. For now, she'll enjoy the company.]

In my country, a guest brings a gift when visiting. Usually something edible but packaged, but the selections here... I opted to make something simple and refreshing, that would go well with the drinks. Good against the heat.

[Certainly it makes sense to have this gathering where Tina and the cat won't be underfoot, but Sephiroth wonders if there might be any other reason. He glances around the old apartment.]

Do you think you'll miss this place?

[ loki considers this for a moment. in the morning, thor would wake him up for panflaps. there was space for a small grill by the balcony. he had considered starting a business.

all of those things were gone. ]

No. Not particularly.
