[Now that Mechanima and the Society have lifted their control over Central City's borders and the teleporters between various American locations are properly working again, it's easier for visitors to come by again.

As usual, Descendant Karaoke Bar and Lounge is open for business and now hoping that they can have more customers again. Civilian or criminal; temporarily depowered or not; people will want a drink and/or blow off some steam.

This month's popular songs include hits such as It's Not Right But It's Okay, Escape (The Piña Colada Song), Don’t Stop Believin’, and Summer Nights.

The Coyote Ugly Nights were successful despite previous travel restrictions so now these events are happening at least twice a week, depending on which employees are available to dance or do extra security. The social media posts advertising the business and showing off performances are still in full swing as well.

Or you can just drop by during a normal day/evening. As Descendant's official owner, Jason can be found doing things like bartending, serving particularly close attention to the VIPs, or just in the reading room taking a break.

Happy(?) Birthday (In-game date: August 16th):

[It's Jason's birthday and it… might be a mixed bag for him. Previous birthdays have wildly varied from depressing, bittersweet, and for a short while, actually happy. This year things with his family could be better but they could also be worse. There's also no doubt that this year he has people he genuinely cares about and who would care that it's his birthday. It gets confusing having so many ambiguous feelings.

In the hopes of minimizing potentially awkward conversations, he's taking a day-off from Descendant, sleeping in a little and perhaps going out later in the day to treat himself to a new book and his favorite foods.

[Shaking his head, Donnie eyes the ground below for some quick calculations before he swings himself back, kicking his legs forward and away from the tree to tuck into enough of a roll that gets him facing upright for his landing.]

[There's just the slightest smirk at Donnie's retort before he rolls and lands back on the ground]

9.2 on the landing. What were you doing?

Guess I'll take it.

[He makes a show of dusting himself off, pulling his hood over his head.]

Research. There's been weird things happening lately, don't know if you've noticed.

Gonna have to be more specific about which weird things. This last month and half has been a lot.

[purplexing]

Okay, point.

[Just gonna invite himself over to sit on the other end of the bench.]

Have you seen gramps-Leo wandering around some time ago? And, I don't know...related instances that may involve abruptly age-displaced individuals or memory dumps of events that previously haven't been experienced?

[Jason snorts]

Yeah. It's been hard to miss when someone you know is half their usual age. Met your older, older brother too.

Y...eah, that was weird. I've run into the former instance too. Kind of glad they don't seem to be permanent shifts, but the overall frequency of it is kind of alarming.

[He hmms, leaning back as he turns his goggles down again to look over at Jason.]

-don't mind me, just part of the research. What're you up to anyway? Aside from the obvious. ...huh, I should remember to eat something.

[robintohood]

Just wanted to treat myself today. When was the last time you ate?

Sounds like a good enough plan to me.

Uh...

Well, I had a donut...

[He glances over towards its sad remnants where he'd dropped it, several sparrows and a couple of pigeons already picking it over.]

Otherwise...I think it was a couple slices of leftover pizza...last night.

[robintohood]

Yeah, you need something else now. There's a pizzeria across the street if you want.

[purplexing]

It's like you know me already or something.

[Never mind that it's probably become more than obvious that it's the turtles' chosen staple for the frequency they ordered or brought it to the penthouse.]

[robintohood]

[It's absolutely coming from the turtles being at the penthouse that Jason knows this]

Yeah, I might've noticed you and Leo eating a few slices.

[purplexing]

Only a few, huh.

[Donnie smirks as he pulls his goggles back up, springing to his feet.]

You want anything while I'm over there?

[robintohood]

Nah. I'm good here.

[Jason holds up his chili dog before taking a big bite out of it]

You can just come back here and eat.

[purplexing]

[Giving Jason a salute, Donnie turns to go and head across.

Eventually he comes back, carrying a pizza box in front of him. He plops himself back down on the bench, licking his lips as he rubs his hands together.]

[robintohood]

[Jason just about done with his chili dog by the time Donnie comes back]

You guys must've hit up every pizzeria in the city by now.

[purplexing]

How else are you going to know which one's got the best pizza?

[He picks up a slice, having opted for classic pepperoni and cheese.]

Of course, as a true New Yorker I must still say that nothing beats home.

Yeah, I'll take a slice.

And yeah. Nothing beats the northeast when it comes to pizza. Jersey's got some good places to.

[purplexing]

Eyew, Jersey...

[It's practically a kneejerk reaction at this point.

Donnie holds out the box so Jason can grab a slice.]

That where you're from?

[Jason snorts. The rivalry between New Jersians and New Yorkers is as natural as cats versus dogs]

Jersey of course.

[purplexing]

That by choice?

[He starts packing away that slice. So much better than that donut.]

Know if this world's iteration has enough similarities or if it's super different? It's been weird living in...Michigan of all places but I'm not sure how I'd feel about going to a different New York...

[robintohood]

Born and raised so I guess I'm stuck with it now.

[Jason takes a big bite out of his own slice]

And yeah. I get it. Michigan was never on my travel list but I think it'd be weird living in this version of Jersey too. I'd be expecting everything to be the same, you know?

[purplexing]

Right? Bad enough being in some city you never really expected to be in, especially when I've never been anywhere outside of New York before. But... I don't know, when I first got here I thought maybe I'd find something familiar about it, but then I realized it still wouldn't be the same.

If anything it'd probably make me feel more homesick.

[robintohood]

[Jason nods]

Exactly. It's bad idea knowing you don't know when you'll be back home.

[purplexing]

...yeah.

Ugh, what a bummer. Let's not talk about home anymore.

Hey, what do you do here anyway? You're always in and out of the penthouse, I figure you keep a busy schedule aside from work. I get it, I like keeping busy too.
