[OPEN] Maybe not a literal monster mash
Who: Jason Todd
robintohood and you. Also a mingle!
What: Various antics at Descendant Karaoke Bar and Lounge during October
When: Throughout October
Where: Central City
Content Warnings: N/A for now. Will edit if needed.
[There may be some changes to the timeline now but Descendant Karaoke Bar and Lounge is still open for business. There are always people looking to have a good time drinking and blowing off some steam with a good song. It doesn’t matter if they’re ordinary civilians or some of Central City’s more... colorful characters. Just be nice to the bouncers and check your weapons by the entrance first.
To reflect the fall season, Descendant has included seasonal drinks like pumpkin beer, apple cocktails, and spiced maple bourbon.
Meanwhile, some of this month's most popular songs seem to be reflecting Halloween, such as Highway to Hell and Monsters. Or maybe you want to do a more classy number like Witchcraft? Descendant looks like a speakeasy after all. And in a total coincidence, Time Warp has also shown up on the popularity chart.
If you drop by at Descendant on a Coyote Ugly Night, you’ll find the atmosphere considerably wilder and wetter. You might’ve even already seen some of the social media posts and videos of the employees performing. They certainly look like they’re having a good time.
Perhaps you’re coming in during a more normal time. Come by for a drink. Maybe rent a private karaoke room or karaoke on stage in front of others if you’re feeling brave. There are some bar games around too.
You can always just people watch as well. Those who are especially observant might notice that some of Descendant’s customers are a bit... furtive as they keep their heads low or quickly scurry to one of the private rooms.
There’s always the reading room too for those who want a more quiet ambiance.
And then there's the very select few who are allowed upstairs in the attic apartment.
Whatever the case may be, Jason will be around. As Descendant’s owner, he’s a busy guy with plenty he has to do]
((OOC: Jason will be around but feel free to mingle! My contact information is on this journal's profile and I'm in the game's Discord server. Also feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns as well. I also have a feedback post.))

Donnie >:] | Open
It only occurs to him now that he's decided to try having a peek that he might not be allowed in. Anyway, what did one wear to a bar? For someone who liked to plan ahead, he'd come woefully unprepared, but this stop had been purely on a whim and in between errands.
Donnie had opened the door and currently finds himself in a stare-down with the bouncers, whom he can only assume don't believe that purple hoodies meet the proper dress-code and not at all because he's some green kid who's clearly underaged to be paying any bars visits.
"Um..."
no subject
Oh. Now that's unexpected.
"He's with me, guys," Jason says before waving Donnie in.
no subject
"Heeeeey, this a bad time?" he greets.
no subject
He leads Donnie to the main bar area on the ground floor. It's active but not packed to the gills today.
"You need something of you just wanted to check out the place?"
no subject
"Just being nosy," he admits without hesitation, shoving his hands into his hoodie pockets as he smiles. "Also you mentioned karaoke. I bet Leo'd love to snag a room sometime. Maybe we can drag 'Rator with us." Pause. "Uh, if that's an option anyway. Somehow I wasn't expecting bouncers but I guess you wouldn't want any trouble here."
no subject
Given that Descendant is meant to attract criminals and gather intel about them, security always needs to be around.
Jason walks over to behind the bar and begins to makes a Shirley Temple for Donnie.
"Who's Rator?" He then asks.
no subject
"Hm? Oh, friend of ours. His name's actually Accelerator but I mean, nicknames save a lot of breath."
no subject
"Right. Got it. Accelerator kinda sounds like a nickname already," he says.
no subject
"I know, right? We're trying to figure out how many ways we can shorten it." It's one of many games the disaster twins play, aside from 'how long will it take for Accy to realize they've messed with his phone settings again.'
"Meanwhile he insists on calling us by our full names and it's super weird because we don't even call each other by them." Even their dad usually tends to go by color-coding.
"Anyway, you're the boss man, right? Would a karaoke night be cool? It could even be afternoon I guess, I just feel like it'd be nice to do something fun after everything."
no subject
At this point, Jason feels he knows the turtles and Accelerator well enough to trust they won't get into too big of a mess at his cover business. He then gestures to where security is.
"That way I can give them a heads-up," he continues. "You're lucky I was around this time."
no subject
Donnie blinks, glancing back the way they'd come as Jason brings it up. "I'm underdressed, aren't I. Or is it...this whole situation in general."
no subject
no subject
"Mmm, ooh that's good."

She looks to Donnie, her smile warming. "Hello again, my friend. It's nice to see you off the battlefield."
no subject
"Diana! Hey!" That battle had been a weird one and at times hard to keep track of just who or what you were fighting, much less your own mind, so he's glad that she hadn't been some strange hallucination. "Good to see you too!"
no subject
no subject
"Good. Better, even, now that I'm not stuck somewhere without internet." Donnie shudders a little at that thought. "Never again."
no subject
Once inside the bar proper, she pauses, hands on her hips as she considers him. "So, Donnie. What brings you here tonight? If you're waiting on a friend, I'd be more than happy to keep you company until they arrive."
no subject
He openly looks around once they're inside, not sure what he'd been expecting, but he can't say he's disappointed either. It certainly looks...bar-ish.
"Huh? Oh! Um. Well...not exactly waiting on anyone, really. A guy I know says he owns the place so I thought I'd check it out."
no subject
There's a brief moment of surprise as she looks at him. "You know Jason?"
no subject
The surprised look has Donnie arch a brow then. "Is...that weird?"
no subject
It's nice that Jason has friends outside of his family. "And no... not exactly. The gods have been present in my life to an... unusual extent."
no subject
He's not sure what to think about Diana's relationship with gods. "I've only personally met one here- or at least he says he's one? Kind of annoying sometimes though."
no subject
She wishes it were an unfamiliar sentiment, but after the Amazons waged war on Man's World, after Maxwell Lord and Brother Eye... she knows better. "Oh? Which one?"
Eros, perhaps? She can imagine there are those who would find the god 'kind of annoying.'
no subject
Donnie looks around at the seating arrangement for the bar. It's a lot cozier than the sports lounge he's walked through. He glances back at Diana. Should they sit somewhere?
"Oh, this guy named Loki. I think he's the mayor of Sunset Falls."
