Civilian:
[Between running Descendant Bar & Lounge as a civilian and being the violent vigilante and crime lord known as the Red Hood, it’s hard for Jason to have time for himself. But somehow he finds a way to squeeze in a few free days every month.

After running several errands, Jason’s now relaxing on a park bench and reading a library’s copy of The Bad Seed. If one were to look at the bags next to him, he apparently bought some new apparel, tools, and sewing supplies. Come bug him]

Red Hood:
[Tonight, the Red Hood is well within his gang’s territory and busy with making sure things stay in order.

If you’re nearby, you might see a thug get defenestrated out of a dive bar and landing on the curb. Jason then coolly follows after him and cracks his knuckles. Two of Jason’s gang members also come out of the building to follow him]

We can do this the easy way or the hard way.

Alternatively, instead of coming across the Red Hood committing assault and battery, you might see a rarer side of him.

He could be seen escorting a teenager towards a homeless shelter for youths. There's no threatening, dangerous growl to his voice as he talks to the kid.]

Cooking Lesson (Closed to Donnie):
[A lot has happened since Jason and Donnie talked about making a grilled cheese sandwich. Time travel, more new arrivals, a possibly new timeline…. These things happen, you know? But Jason and Donnie’s schedules have finally lined up for them to spend a morning making a grilled cheese sandwich. It should be simple enough, right?]

Might wanna take it easy on the laser.

[Okay, mostly simple]

Crime Lesson (Closed to Accelerator):
[As promised, Jason is going to teach Accelerator on how to be a better criminal.

Tonight, Jason is fully dressed in his Red Hood gear and perched on the rooftop of a store that’s closed for the evening. The meeting spot he and Accelerator worked out is within Backbreakers territory near a chop shop. Said shop’s lights are on and sounds of tools banging and whirring indicate the illicit business is open.

Jason isn't entirely sure how this lesson will turn out but it should be entertaining at least. He just has to wait for Accelerator to arrive]

[If he still had his old tech-bō then whipping out a fire extinguisher wouldn't have been a problem. Donnie's too busy staring as it is, wondering how everything went so wrong so very fast. He supposes applause won't make things better, impressed as he is at Jason's quick thinking.

Finally he manages a sheepish grin as he looks over at the other.]

My method's probably looking perfectly reasonable now, isn't it?

Almost. I take back what I said about taking it easy on the laser.

[Which now seems safer for Donnie to use as opposed to a stove]

I'm still of the opinion that a laser wouldn't be very effective for a grilled cheese sandwich unless it were properly diffused and its resulting heat distributed evenly enough across surfaces, in which case, toaster coils do pretty well in itself.

For a basic sandwich, yeah and it definitely works when you don’t have much else. Not the easiest in cleanup though.

This is truuue...

[Mental gears are turning.]

And you’ll have the same problem if you try with a toaster oven.

But who says it has to be a toaster oven...

Something that generates enough heat but evenly so, with such components being separate or at least appropriately shielded for cleaning ease.

[He pats around his belt pouch pockets before pulling out a pad and pencil to start roughing out a design and jot down some notes.]

Is your luck with stoves usually this bad or was this just a freak accident?

Normally I don't deal with stoves but I am going to go with freak accident.

I hope you’re not this bad with Bunsen burners.

[Save for that one time where he'd been thankful he had no actual eyebrows to burn off but that was before he'd figured out how to use them properly!]

[Teasing]

It’s still an open flame.

[Sleeper hadn't really been paying attention to what was going on in the kitchen, but some things can't be ignored, and the sound and smell of fire has the cat-like being on high alert, but they don't slink into the kitchen until after it's under control. Jason might have sensed their proximity through their bond, but they aren't trying to be a distraction.]

Speaking of open flames, did you forget about the flammable housemate?

[Jason gets a glare.

Donnie huffs, folding his arms. Great, now they have an audience.]

Technically everyone's flammable to some extent.

But how many have racial memories of being used as the material in a god's forge? My species really doesn't like fire. So next time you plan on burning the place down, a little warning would be nice. I can be ready to exude fire retardant of an appropriate kind.

[Jason sensing Sleeper’s close proximity is a large part of why Jason acted so quickly to put out the fire. He walks over to pet his partner]

It was faster that I took care of it.

[The turtle teen has to gape a bit because seriously, what? He's equal parts horrified and confused before defenses kick in.]

I didn't do it on purpose!

Because I was in the next room. I can definitely handle flames in my vicinity. It's not like the chemicals are hard to create for extinguishing foam. But it still makes me nervous. What are you doing, anyway?

Trying to make a grilled cheese sandwich without using a toaster. Apparently, a lot can go wrong with that.

I blame the lack of more accurate settings and measurements.

Cooking is an art, not a science.
