[Open-ish] October Oddities
Who: Jason Todd
robintohood and you. Also a couple of closed prompts
What: Various antics with Jason as a civilian and as the Red Hood
When: Throughout October
Where: Central City
Content Warnings: Potential PG-13 level violence. Will edit if needed.
Civilian:
[Between running Descendant Bar & Lounge as a civilian and being the violent vigilante and crime lord known as the Red Hood, it’s hard for Jason to have time for himself. But somehow he finds a way to squeeze in a few free days every month.
After running several errands, Jason’s now relaxing on a park bench and reading a library’s copy of The Bad Seed. If one were to look at the bags next to him, he apparently bought some new apparel, tools, and sewing supplies. Come bug him]
Red Hood:
[Tonight, the Red Hood is well within his gang’s territory and busy with making sure things stay in order.
If you’re nearby, you might see a thug get defenestrated out of a dive bar and landing on the curb. Jason then coolly follows after him and cracks his knuckles. Two of Jason’s gang members also come out of the building to follow him]
We can do this the easy way or the hard way.
[Come enjoy the show?
Alternatively, instead of coming across the Red Hood committing assault and battery, you might see a rarer side of him.
He could be seen escorting a teenager towards a homeless shelter for youths. There's no threatening, dangerous growl to his voice as he talks to the kid.]
Just give tonight a shot and see how you feel tomorrow. You can call me if you need something.
Cooking Lesson (Closed to Donnie):
[A lot has happened since Jason and Donnie talked about making a grilled cheese sandwich. Time travel, more new arrivals, a possibly new timeline…. These things happen, you know? But Jason and Donnie’s schedules have finally lined up for them to spend a morning making a grilled cheese sandwich. It should be simple enough, right?]
Might wanna take it easy on the laser.
[Okay, mostly simple]
Crime Lesson (Closed to Accelerator):
[As promised, Jason is going to teach Accelerator on how to be a better criminal.
Tonight, Jason is fully dressed in his Red Hood gear and perched on the rooftop of a store that’s closed for the evening. The meeting spot he and Accelerator worked out is within Backbreakers territory near a chop shop. Said shop’s lights are on and sounds of tools banging and whirring indicate the illicit business is open.
Jason isn't entirely sure how this lesson will turn out but it should be entertaining at least. He just has to wait for Accelerator to arrive]
Wildcard:
((OOC: Got something else in mind? Hit me up! I always welcome new CRs as well. My contact information is on this journal's profile and I'm in the game's Discord server. Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns as well. I also have a feedback post.))

What's Cooking
[Oh yeah, really promising.]
no subject
I recommend taking it easy on that too if you ever use it for cooking.
[Though at least it’s good to know Donnie wouldn’t be shy about trying to make a crème brûlée]
no subject
What, the laser or the flamethrower?
[You can still back out of this Jason.]
no subject
Both.
[Puts a frying pan on the stove before going to the fridge to take out the butter and cheese]
no subject
[He stares at the pan like it's a foreign thing. No no, he can see how this should work. Technically. But it still seems like a bit much. The butter gets an arch of his brow.]

Red Hood; makes things… worse? lol
Whatever Leo’s worst suspicions, none of them are proven true, and the teen is delivered safely to a shelter. Leo will wait until the Red Hood is done and leaving before dropping out of a portal next to him.]
So like… what’s your deal, anyway?
no subject
He mentally notes that while keeping his body language calm]
What do you mean? I'm just taking a walk.
[He's purposely playing dumb partially because he doesn't see a reason to share what he's up to Leo and partially to annoy him for fun]
no subject
Besides, it’s not all he can do.]
Taking a walk… sure.
[With a teenager. To a shelter. Mm-hm.]
So do you just do stuff like that out of the goodness of your heart, or what?
no subject
Yeah, you should see at Christmas. I turn into a Santa Claus.
[Oddly enough, what he's doing tonight is out of charity but he doesn't feel like admitting that for now]
no subject
[Leo trots ahead a few steps, then turns and walks backwards, arms behind his head.]
You sure you should be escorting kids around? Apparently associating with you is a bad idea.

He makes his way to the designated meeting spot by the train, then via his ability so he doesn't have to walk the rest of the way. It's late and they aren't in the safest area of the city, and he doesn't want to be late because some mugger thought it would be wise to target a kid with a crutch.
There are four miniature tornadoes attached to his back that he's using to fly, though when he gets close enough they dissolve and he starts manipulating gravitational vectors instead. The tornadoes are far cooler, but they're noisy and he doesn't want to draw attention.
His hands are shoved into the pockets of his jeans as he casually floats downwards, coming to a soft landing next to Jason. Once his feet are on the ground he hits the switch on his choker and extends the cane portion of his crutch.
Unlike Jason he hasn't bothered with any kind of mask. He has, however, brought along a gun in a holster attached to his belt.]
Yo.
no subject
Got here okay?
no subject
American transit is shit, but it wasn't a problem.
[Compared to Japan's, at least. He looks over in the direction of the chop shop.]
What're we looking at?
no subject
Got some ideas on how to do it?
no subject
[Without them noticing? That means no breaking down a wall and crushing them. What a pain in the ass.]
I don't know the layout of the building's interior, so it's probably better to create a distraction and get as many of them out of there as possible, then sneak in.

Past Midnight, at the BatGym
from that angle. Sensors on the roof pick up movement. Not from the edges, but from above. Then weight and heat, a single large entity that roams the length of the roof. While pressure is applied to the skylight, it's ultimately left alone, as well as any rooftop entrances. It stops and settles in an open space, counting on near-black coloration to be unseen in the dark.]

Huh.
[He then slows down and parks his vehicle in an alley between warehouses as to hopefully not further alert the intruder]

Red Hood, A Hero
Red Hood, still saving those in need I see. Got yourself a great hero there, kid.
no subject
The kid gives Jason a mildly confused look before Jason gestures him to the shelter]
Come on. You should get going. It’s cold tonight.
[The kid nods and enters the shelter. Jason then looks back at Mark]
Still getting yourself into trouble?
no subject
Oh of course. Not the goal at all, but it's still something that that comes up from time to time. Still rescuing the helpless?
no subject
Don’t like having trouble in my turf. A lot of trash likes to roll around here.
