It's Friday October 27th when this housewarming shindig happens at the townhouse in Central he's recently purchased for himself and with it being so close to Halloween, he decides to decorate it a little. Or maybe a lot. He's still trying to get the hang of this whole Bruce Wayne thing.

Either way, the lower floor of the five-story townhouse is decorated for the spooky season and the one floor he'd prefer people to stick to since he's not the only one who lives here. There's food and refreshments available with something hopefully for everyone and if you're in the mood for something a little more spooky for a drink, there's this little guy lined up along one of the tables to be enjoyed, the flavor being a tart pomegranate with a touch of sweetness to it. Yes, it can also be alcoholic and yes, he has someone stationed there to ensure those of age to drink are the ones taking the alcoholic version of that.

On your way in or out, don't forget to say hi to the concierge for the night and feel free to take your complimentary pumpkin bucket filled with candy he has for guests. Don't worry about checking the candy for trackers. It's not like he would ever do such a thing. 😇 Happy Housewarming Halloween.

ooc notes: just a stupid little housewarming mingle thrown together where bruce makes an attempt to Do Something for his kiddos and friends he has here. Diana also lives within the townhouse and so friends of hers are welcome to stop by as well if she'd invite them. whoever the kiddos want to bring along with them are also welcome to stop by but please stick to the first floor where the shindig is or else bruce is going to be Disappointed aka i'm still figuring out the rest of the floors.

he doesn't exactly greet guests upon their arrival, given it's not as if it's some public event being held, but he's close by to see who actually decides to show up, spooky themed drink in hand. someone who will greet guests and eagerly so, is a black lab pup wearing a custom-made leather jacket, running up to anyone and everyone, probably looking for treats and head pats.

otherwise, you can catch bruce lingering near the food table, overthinking all of this as bruce wayne does and watching those who decided to come, making a mental note of who's here, both familiar and unfamiliar.

if he does decide to try and make conversation, it's likely to be about the food. )

[It’s not so much that Jason wants to spend more time with Bruce as it is he wants to case what the townhouse’s interior is like.

Underneath his usual brown leather jacket, he’s also wearing a Wonder Woman costume. Though he had to get a gladiator costume and had to make modifications to it like removing the sleeves and recolor the whole thing, he believes it was worth the effort. He even got the red boots to match.

Come talk to him. He’s likely to be found by the food or near the stairs, thinking about how to sneak up to the floors above]

Halloween was never a big holiday for the Drake household, with the exception of one year when there was a big Halloween bash for the upper-crust that Janet and Jack made a point of attending with Tim. He'd done little things with his friends, too, and the Team had a Halloween party, but he's not... totally sure what to expect.

What he finds is maybe not that shocking in retrospect. He might not be Tim's Bruce but he's still Bruce, and he's kind of gone all-out on Halloween Gothic(TM), even without Alfred to arrange things. Tim's not trying that hard, Halloween-wise, since he wasn't too sure if this was actually a Halloween party or a housewarming one, though at some point during the night he borrows Nico's jacket to low-key cosplay as his friend (steal his look). If/when he ever gets to feeling awkward, he retreats to near the food with a mocktail and goes into Gala Waiting Mode (friendly but not too eager, looks as if he would chat with you about finances and business in a very precocious manner for his age), but this party is mostly filled with his family, so he's not too prone to zoning out like that. He can also be found hanging out with Cocoa Bear (who needs to be socialized properly with Haley, it Must Happen) and exploring the building in very legal ways, certainly never ending up on a floor belonging to someone else because that would be impolite.

I'm flattered.

And now I feel a bit underdressed.

[ Diana is not in costume. She is, however, sporting a Descendant-branded t-shirt along with her tiara, bracelets, jeans, and the ever-present lasso. ]

You look wonderful.

[Jason laughs and looking rather proud of himself]

Thanks. It’s nowhere as good as whatever gets made in Themyscira but I tried to get the most important parts right at least.

And you got great tastes in shirts so I say you’re dressed just fine.

( cocoa bear is more than happy to receive some attention, tail wagging happily as he's pet. bruce, on the other hand... well. that's certainly a look jason here has. hm. )

He seems to like it enough.

[Jason certainly has no shame in wearing his outfit. He looks as comfortable in it as if he was in his usual civilian clothes]

Dylan had been doing some experimenting with his powers lately. He's a bit too nervous to try fully polymorphing, but he is opting to try and take the nice suit he's wearing and give it a bit of a more personal flair with aid from his shapeshifting. It's Halloween without being a full costume? He likes it, anyway.

He'd tried to sneak one of the alcoholic versions of the cocktails, mostly for Cool Points^TM, but was blocked at every turn. So he nurses the non-alcoholic version of the drink as he watches the party from a table, trying to find an opportunity to feel like he belongs here. Sure, Jason brought him, and Jason is family, but — Everything's strange. A year ago his family had looked almost completely different.

He's maintaining a cheerful demeanor, at least. Nico had called him "the cool one" so he can ride the high of that for a little while.

But there are moments wishing there was someone beside him. Maybe if Hunter was still here, this could have been a date.

[ Ororo is here at Diana's invitation. She wasn't aware that it was a Halloweeen-themed party, so she regretfully isn't in costume, but she does find the spread of food and drink amusing! She patiently takes her time to pick her way through the platters of themed food, picks up a glass of the funny looking drink, and gets to the bucket of candy. She lifts a brow in surprise as she peers in, eyes glowing. ]

Hmm. Is there a party game with the candy, do you think? [ She sees very faint traces of electricity in there, but she can't tell why just yet. ]

[ Diana knows a lot of people from home (or places like her home) and Ororo has to excuse herself from the gathering crowd eventually. Even if she can't get outdoors, she'll find a nook near a window and crack it open, heedless of the autumn chill outside. She closes her eyes and lets the air rush in for a moment, before she flashes an apologetic smile to the nearest partygoer. ]

I hope you don't mind the chill. I just needed some air.

I think it will do nicely, so long as you do not suddenly find yourself battling a cyclops.

[ In which case she'd step in anyway, so. ]

I'm glad you came.

[ For herself, but even more so for Bruce. He wants to get to know them better, she knows. ]

What do you think of the place?

Diana isn't wearing a costume – any costume, not even her own – but despite the jeans and Descendant-branded t-shirt there's the golden glint of her tiara in her hair and the lasso glowing gently at her hip. Her silver bracelets reflect what light there is as she reaches for one of the drinks, considering it for a moment before she turns her attention on the young person standing near by. "Hello."

He looks a little self-conscious, so her smile is warm and gentle and inviting as she holds out her free hand to shake. "Welcome. I don't think we've met – my name is Diana."

( drink in hand, he takes a slow sip of it, licking over his lips as he looks down to bear and his wagging tail. )

I'm glad you came.

[ Tim is making an appearance at the party, ostensibly in the name of family togetherness. He's dressed up as whatever knockoff version of Subzero exists in this universe.

(Maybe he's also here to help Jay to kick rocks because he's annoyed at B, too, but hey. He won't take that out on guests.)

He smiles and shakes his head at the statement. ]

I used to run around New Jersey in the winter in short sleeves. I'm good.

If he goes exploring, he'll find the floor above the party locked, and Diana coming down the stairs from her own apartment one flight further up.

She casts him a glance that's half-amused, half-knowing. "Hello, Tim. Coming up to visit me, were you?"

Absolutely not the case, but she's willing to give him a way out.

Not bad. The place hilariously matches the homeowner. It’s almost too on the nose.

[He hasn’t realized yet that Bruce actually decorated]

[Jason shrugs, trying to downplay how special it is to do these family gatherings. His problems with the family are already years old but now isn’t the time to pick more fights. He’s trying to behave for at least Diana’s sake]

Free food and drink on your dime? Might as well. Didn’t you would do this kind of thing.

[Jason’s wearing a Wonder Woman costume when Ororo opens the window. He doesn’t seem bothered by the chill though as he’s also wearing a brown leather jacket]

It’s fine. Don’t want a goth place like to be too comfortably warm.

Well, it doesn't look like this all the time.

[ Regardless of how Bruce had made it seem as though the decorating was her idea. ]

And my floor has very few seasonal decorations.

[ Did Jason know she was living here? He does now! ]

I thought I would give it a try. Even if just once.

( he's not dressed up though because... no. if others wanted to, he wasn't going to stop them. which, speaking of. )

Nice costume.

Jason had been on and off observing Dylan to see if he was comfortable or if they should leave early. Jason knows this is a different family gathering than what the teenager had with Eddie, Venom, and others. After Dylan rightfully called out Jason for keeping him in the dark about the Waynes, Jason had been trying to do better and letting Dylan be more involved. It’s been an adjustment for Jason to let more people into his life on a deeper level but he understands why it was important to Dylan.

At some point during the party, Jason walks over to Dylan holding a cup of what looks like hot chocolate with whipped cream. He’s still looking comfortable in his Wonder Woman costume and his leather jacket.

“Here. It’s spiked,” he says.

[ The costume has her wondering a little, but hey - she isn't a stranger to ridiculous outfits. ]

Why would you do such a thing? Have you some resistance to the cold?

[ Jean knows exactly whose house she's at—and precisely whose she's isn't, all the same—before she arrives. Consider it habit and old hat, as well as well worn precaution where it comes to the unknown and those dear to her in unusual circumstances.

A concession of contradiction that she knows all too well.
She's there for one obvious reason. Or maybe it's three.
(It's definitely more than one.)

But it'd be hard to tell from the ease with which she crouches down, loose red hair billowing in a wavy curtain around her as she greets the most excited member of the house. The small dog is amply rewarded for his excitement with attentive fawning, Jean's smile a bright ribbon of unfettered amusement. ]

Hello there. Aren't you just the most precious?

[ Ororo has seen Diana enough times that seeing this young man in her costume makes her lips twitch. She has to lift her glass to her lips to hide the rest of her smile. ]

You sound like an expert on goth places. Is it your preference?

[A surprise Bat! Such a rarity. Jason raises an eyebrow]

“Your floor?”
