Happy Mog's Day!

What's Mog's Day? Well, it's not surprising you haven't heard of it, since it isn't an Earth holiday. It's a fall celebration marking the end of the season, before moogles enter their annual hibernation. A simple drawing of a moogle (a white, vaguely koala-like animal with small bat wings) was included in the invitation. On arrival, guests will be asked to don a large red nose, out of respect for Mog. The hosts are exempt from this, given they're the ones throwing the party and all.

Want a tour of the house? The hosts are not familiar with the concept of a housewarming party, but that's essentially what this is, and any of them would probably show you around if you like. They've just moved, but there's no sign of boxes. Rather, the bookshelves and decor seem a little sparse, their belongings having migrated from a smaller space. You may catch glimpses of a large orange cat slinking around behind the furniture. He has not yet adjusted to his new surroundings, and all the strangers aren't helping.

A catered dinner is laid out on the dining room table. (They can cook, they just... didn't.) There's also a chocolate cake waiting in the kitchen for later. It's for Loki; Sephiroth doesn't really care about cake.

The nearby back door leads out into the yard, and the fire pit. Arranged on a table are some materials one might use to create a simple effigy of someone you particularly hate. There's also a bag of marshmallows, seemingly as an afterthought.

Yes? Granted it was on the busride back from the Magna Cucurbita staging-grounds with a gaggle of elementary school students... but I did it!

[She's cleaned up from the outdoors, but yeah. There's a definite air of "I have been stuck with small children for an extended period of time" about her.]

Well... perhaps some types of moogle have them, and some don't? I doubt it's sexual dimorphism, maybe a sort of species differentiation....

[She laughs, a little embarrassed.] Wouldn't that make for good folklore?

Until some manifest here, they might as well be couched as fairy-tale creatures. Sunset Falls would probably accept a holiday and stories about cute bear-like helpers from someone's home-world. Balances out the murderous monstrosities here.

And yes, they all had red pom-poms, soft to the touch. Not that they'd allow it for long, understandably.

... that would make so much sense. I never saw a juvenile moogle there, due to the danger.

[She's kicking herself mentally, she really should have asked them when she had the chance... oh well. Could have, should have.]

What did they do in the fairie tales?

Ahhhhh, yes, I remember the kupo nuts. They were very useful as bribes, if you could find them before the moogles did. I never tried one myself. Do you know if they are edible? For humans, I mean.

I wonder if there is an equivalent to them here-- I usually bake up a storm around the end of the year. They'd be interesting to add!

Hazelnuts! Interesting....

[Interesting enough that she pulls out a pen and scrap of paper from her pocketspace and jots the comparison on it. Then, as she reads back over it, her eyes glow red. Once the information feels stored, she puts the materials away.]

There. Ready for when I need it.

I can store information that I've read! It's not indefinite storage, and it's not permanent, but... it's really nice sometimes!

[Mayuko gives another tug to the nose. WHY LOKI WHY DO THIS]

Hmmm... I do know that when whatever limit is hit, I lose the oldest texts in storage until there's room again? Can't reproduce them wordperfect anymore.

[so yes. memory and forgetfulness but... orderly.]

A little. I think it's stuck.

[She pauses. Stares for a moment.]

Where's yours?
