[Open] Marching to the beat of his drum
Who: Jason Todd
robintohood and you
What: Various antics as a civilian and as Red Hood
When: Throughout March
Where: Central City
Content Warnings: PG-13 level violence
Jason:
[The weather is gradually warming up and moods are lifting up for people! Well, lifting up for most people. For the owner of the Descendant Karaoke Bar and Lounge, he’s just briskly working as usual. Maybe he’s being less talkative and more introverted than usual but sometimes that’s what happens when one is busy. He even sometimes still puts on a smile to make customers feel more welcomed.
But that’s assuming people are following his rules. If otherwise, then his vocabulary gets colorful as he snarls out statements like…]
Pull that shit again and your brains get splattered across the floor.
[Okay, maybe how much rougher he’s gotten this month when he’s literally throwing and kicking out belligerent patrons might indicate he’s in a certain other kind of Mood. Don’t worry. He doesn’t usually bite.
On a note that can’t possibly be related, the 4-eyed black and yellow talking cat that used to hang out at the Descendant hasn’t been seen in a while]
Red Hood:
[The Backbreakers are as active as ever in Central City. They had a few setbacks over the last few months but that hasn’t kept them down. They’re maintaining their territory. Illicit goods are still being handled. The racketeering business is sturdy. The chop shops are always having a good time. If you ask a local in their territory, they might say the gang members are also friendly neighborhood vigilantes.
The Backbreakers are Society members after all. Overall, the gang’s recovery has been okay.
So in their territory during an evening, it’s possible you might see the Backbreakers’ leader with a couple of his people outside of a dive bar.
Though the Red Hood’s helmet hides his facial expressions, the way he’s whaling at a rule breaker might indicate he’s not in the best of moods at the moment. Blood splatters on his helmet also indicate how brutal he’s being tonight. He then drags his screaming victim by the hair across the sidewalk]
It’s time to get back to basics.
Wildcard:

in the apt at some point
He doesn't look up when Jason walks in.
"Sleeper's gone."
no subject
He sits next to Dylan after coming into the kitchen.
“I know,” he says grimly. “I… I felt it.”
no subject
He hates how empty his own thoughts feel now. Sleeper was never intrusive, but Dylan could always sense that they were there.
No sibling, no symbiote, just... Dylan.
"I'm sorry. I know you two were close."
no subject
“I know how much you two love each other too.”

Never mind that she was still a cat. Not even bribing the Sunset Falls feline population with nightly saucers of milk had worked. No worries. She was at least small enough to fit inside the bar!
But as she trotted up to the entrance, the door swung open and a large shape was launched through. A person, was all Mayuko processed as she bounded to the side with a hsssss! to keep from getting flattened.]

You’re lucky you still got most of your teeth.
[The man coughs out a loose tooth from his bloody mouth and whimpers an apology before fleeing. Satisfied that his victim isn’t going to return, Jason then starts to turn back inside. The door is going to close so best to catch it soon if you’re lacking opposable thumbs]

The security person running the
weaponcoat check might feel something brush against their leg. Maybe Jason does, too. But whatever it was has ducked out of sight for the moment.]no subject

The culprit can be located innocently reading in the attic.
no subject
Taking a guess at how this great offense could’ve happened, he slips away and heads up to the attic to find the real criminal. He then knocks on the door.
“Open up or I’ll bust this door like it’s a union,” he jokes.

no subject
“The hell I won’t!” he laughs before swinging the door open.

Red Hood
He hops across a couple of rooftops, coming to the edge of one, and when he spots Jason's very familiar red helmet, doesn't hesitate to jump down. His free hand jammed into his jeans pocket, he sips his coffee and slows his fall by manipulating some gravitational vectors, landing on the sidewalk about ten feet away. Far enough back to give Jason some space because while he isn't reacting to any of the violence, he isn't going to completely ignore it.]
Yo.

Yo.
[Jason then pistol whips the goon one more time]
no subject
Someone's having a bad night.
[Does he mean Jason or the goon getting pistol whipped...........]
no subject
[Bob the goon frantically nods, hoping the beating will finally stop]

Hoody
Some things are simple to work out, like mathematical equations and formulas, numbers all neat and everything aligned. Things just make sense. And while subtraction in itself is a simple concept, death is another thing altogether. He'd almost lost his brother. Technically he did lose him, and while he's managed to get him back, the damage from the experience hasn't just disappeared.
Instead of retreating into his tech and burying himself in projects, he's been skulking around these late nights. Rather than his usual ninja trappings, he's taken to just wearing what he's designated as his Society-persona's gear, all blacks and dark grays, with the sharp contrast of neon purple in lines and color blocks, and he isn't obviously armed. The helmet's a new addition, featureless and dark. It's easier to hide behind, a physical wall that won't give away those tricky things called emotions that you can't seem to get a handle on.
It's this figure that's about the rooftops, and though he generally hasn't made any trouble, he hasn't seemed to care much for whomever's territory he toes or passes through.
no subject
He can’t tell yet who the newcomer is so he continues to bludgeon his victim with a tire iron. In Jason’s experience, how an observer reacts to him at work will tell him plenty enough.
no subject
He's about to move on, but morbid curiosity gets the better of him, if just for a moment. Red Hood's...beating up on his own members? The reason could be anything, the business ultimately not his. Sucks to be that guy though.
It's not an immediate withdrawal. Not an abrupt one either, almost casual as he tugs his hood forward and turns to step away from the edge of the roof.

[ Descendant ]
Diana enters, nevertheless, wearing jeans and a tee-shirt, the lasso glowing at her hip and her hair spilling over her shoulders, and comes to take a seat at the bar, smiling at Jason as she does.
He may be in a sour mood, but she's always happy to see him. "Hello, Jason."
no subject
“Hey, Diana,” he says warmly. “Just got a new shipment of Greek wine today.”
no subject
Of course not, but she strongly suspects it was a motivating factor. For all his rough edges, Jason is far more thoughtful that he gives himself credit for. Not unlike another Bat she knows. "But of course I would love a glass."
(no subject)
Jason
That's what friends are in this sort of situation.]
Jason, maybe you should consider taking some time off.
no subject
It’s fine. Still got plenty to do.
[Like wiping his knuckles after booting out a couple of first time offenders earlier in the day]
