( i. grand opening — mingle and drinks )
[ welcome to the opherium. open to all metas, provided youâre up to the dress code. so make sure youâre dressed to the gills with your fanciest clothes or you might just be asked to leave. youâre ushered into a grand hall. there are appetizers like shrimp cocktails and little quiches placed on large tables for you to nibble on and champagne glasses being passed around by waiters. located in the middle is a large chocolate fountain for all you dessert lovers (loki. itâs for loki). grab yourself a drink and go hit up a familiar face. ]
( ii. dance dance )
[ and of course, once the mingling and networking is done, the staff come to clear the chairs away and leave plenty of room on the dance floor. the lights go dim, casting soft shadows against the wall. slow waltzes begin to filter through the hall as gently encouragement to go find a partner, maybe hold them close, enjoy a little . . . company and more.
or maybe you just want an excuse to step on someoneâs foot. equally valid. in fact, there might be a little magic in the air that tugs you towards someone you want to be with . . . ]
( iii. star gazing )
[ the party is winding down. maybe youâre ready to go back. curl up on bed after a late night with drinks and dancing. or perhaps youâre feeling a touch of wistfulness, a need to seclude yourself after all that jazz. consider then, finding yourself a nice quiet corner on the upper levels of the theatre, where there are some nice balconies for you to collect yourself.
and there are always the stars to keep you company. ]

Tim looks around the growing crowd, half expecting to immediately spot one of them. ]
I think the odds are fairly good. If you're going to be forced to learn how to waltz, you're almost obligated by law to turn up when the invitation hints at black tie, aren't you?

[ Then, because it seems only polite. ]
If I asked you whatâs on the calendar for the upcoming season, would you be bored and tell me not to talk shop?

I was thinking of hosting a few Asgardian plays first. Of course, I am also open to submissions if people would like to savor other faire.

[ Unfortunately, Tim doesnât know Lokiâs other interests are to bring up. ]
Are Asgardian plays any better than other plays? And if youâre taking requests from teenagers, I like older plays with quippy dialogue. Arsenic and Old Lace, The Importance of Being Earnest. Just donât let anyone talk you into Tennessee Williams.

Oh, not to worry. I can multitask quite well.
[ this is his element after all. ]
And I would not say better. Simply very grandiose and epic.

[ Tim looks around the grand hall, and thinks back to the exterior. ]
Grandiose and epic would be what people expect to see here, so I don't think that's a bad call. I'm going to hold out hope that it's more high fantasy than Shakespearean.

[ Tim is genuinely curious now, and risking being impolite to hear the rationale. ]
Isn't it exactly what everyone would expect at this sort of event? You could've gone for something wild or avant-garde. Hire a local punk band.

[ loki cocks his head. ]
My impression is that these things are considered outdated by mortal standards. Besides, I know my audience. To set the stage, you have to appear graceful.

[ Tim ponders this aloud. ]
I suppose it would depend on if you thought you would have more success with a few large donations or a large number of small donations. It can go either way, especially if you aren't a registered non-profit. ... if they have non-profits in this world.

This will look the part that appeals to them.
