( i. grand opening — mingle and drinks )

[ welcome to the opherium. open to all metas, provided you’re up to the dress code. so make sure you’re dressed to the gills with your fanciest clothes or you might just be asked to leave. you’re ushered into a grand hall. there are appetizers like shrimp cocktails and little quiches placed on large tables for you to nibble on and champagne glasses being passed around by waiters. located in the middle is a large chocolate fountain for all you dessert lovers (loki. it’s for loki). grab yourself a drink and go hit up a familiar face. ]

( ii. dance dance )

[ and of course, once the mingling and networking is done, the staff come to clear the chairs away and leave plenty of room on the dance floor. the lights go dim, casting soft shadows against the wall. slow waltzes begin to filter through the hall as gently encouragement to go find a partner, maybe hold them close, enjoy a little . . . company and more.

or maybe you just want an excuse to step on someone’s foot. equally valid. in fact, there might be a little magic in the air that tugs you towards someone you want to be with . . . ]

( iii. star gazing )

[ the party is winding down. maybe you’re ready to go back. curl up on bed after a late night with drinks and dancing. or perhaps you’re feeling a touch of wistfulness, a need to seclude yourself after all that jazz. consider then, finding yourself a nice quiet corner on the upper levels of the theatre, where there are some nice balconies for you to collect yourself.

and there are always the stars to keep you company. ]

[Jason's still not happy with Loki but he's also curious why he's interested in Bruce]

I've been through worse. What'd you do to piss him off?

He lied to me about being married so I would back off, in my own home where he called upon me, then refused me shelter under his cape when it was raining on the rooftops.

[ None of that is untrue. ]

[robintohood]

[Jason snorts]

Oh you poor thing.

[Sorry, Loki. The dry tone is still there]

[ikols]

[ Tch! Worth a try. He straightens up and gives an unapologetic shrug. ]

Fine. I don't appreciate being allowed to make a fool of myself so a man's ego can make a point of trampling all over mine.

[robintohood]

[Jason barks out a laugh. As much as he hates the situation between him and Bruce, he's still willing to give him credit for having the gall to do certain things]

Yeah, he's real charming like that.

[ikols]

As are you, evidently.

[ Green magic lights up in his hand as he teleports a fresh glass into his grasp from the party. Takes a sip. ]

You seem very alike.

[robintohood]

[Ugh]

What gave you that impression?

[ikols]

[ Just as dryly, ]

I wonder.

[robintohood]

[Cute. Jason sees what he's doing]

Yeah, I had to learn how to be charismatic from someone. You're not gonna slap me too, are you?

[Yes, Jason did see that interaction from earlier tonight]

[ikols]

He earned that slap, and it hardly qualified as such because it wasn't on the face.

[ Sniff! Loki waves a hand at Jason. ]

Can't you run along and tell him how much you dislike me too? I'm sure daddy would love to bond over that.

[robintohood]

Well, you heard our conversation. That's enough quality family time for the both of us tonight.

[ikols]

Just because I overheard doesn't mean I care. [ High opinion of your family, sir. ] You aren't the only vigilantes of whom I know the secret identity, it isn't tea worth spilling.

[robintohood]

So this is all for what? Shits and giggles?

[ikols]

Not everything is about you, little hero.

[ Loki gives Jason a frown, one that melts, literally, into a slightly different face as she shifts into her black ballgown and heads toward the balcony doors, short hair growing long as she starts moving. ]

... This is boring, I wish to dance.

[robintohood]

[Interesting reaction...]

Have fun. Looks like it'll be a while before the party winds down.

[ikols]

I intend to have a great deal of fun, thank you for your permission.

[ Tipsy as she is, she gives him a bright smile that drops like a rock as she heads inside, letting the door clatter on her heels.

After a couple of minutes, screaming comes from inside (snakes thrashing in the punch bowls!) and Loki is nowhere to be seen. ]

[After Loki stepped away, Jason remained out on the balcony for a little while longer. Tonight had been more eventful than he expected so he's got a lot on his mind. Then he hears people screaming about snakes in the punch bowls.

Jason snorts]
