( i. grand opening — mingle and drinks )

[ welcome to the opherium. open to all metas, provided you’re up to the dress code. so make sure you’re dressed to the gills with your fanciest clothes or you might just be asked to leave. you’re ushered into a grand hall. there are appetizers like shrimp cocktails and little quiches placed on large tables for you to nibble on and champagne glasses being passed around by waiters. located in the middle is a large chocolate fountain for all you dessert lovers (loki. it’s for loki). grab yourself a drink and go hit up a familiar face. ]

( ii. dance dance )

[ and of course, once the mingling and networking is done, the staff come to clear the chairs away and leave plenty of room on the dance floor. the lights go dim, casting soft shadows against the wall. slow waltzes begin to filter through the hall as gently encouragement to go find a partner, maybe hold them close, enjoy a little . . . company and more.

or maybe you just want an excuse to step on someone’s foot. equally valid. in fact, there might be a little magic in the air that tugs you towards someone you want to be with . . . ]

( iii. star gazing )

[ the party is winding down. maybe you’re ready to go back. curl up on bed after a late night with drinks and dancing. or perhaps you’re feeling a touch of wistfulness, a need to seclude yourself after all that jazz. consider then, finding yourself a nice quiet corner on the upper levels of the theatre, where there are some nice balconies for you to collect yourself.

and there are always the stars to keep you company. ]

[ Mina was able to steal a glass of champagne when no one was looking, but eventually it was taken away from her, even before she had the chance to have a drink.

With a pout, she eventually moves to the balcony ] No fair...! [ no fair at all!

And that's when she spots Angela, and immediately her small tantrum is gone and she rushes towards the woman with a big grin ] hey!! You look super pretty!!

[hevenly]

[ Parties— or any large social gathering, really— aren't really Angela's thing. The only time she feels comfortable surrounded by so many people is when she is on a battlefield, and they are giving way under her blades.

But she does have a smile to spare for the girl who approaches her with such a fine compliment. ]

Good evening, Mina. You look lovely as well. Are you enjoying yourself?

[pinkxeno]

[ parties are not something Mina is used to, but it's something she wouldn't mind getting used to at all. So far it has been a lot of fun, and everyone looks so nice.

When Angela compliments her, Mina makes a little pose with a small laugh ] Thank you!! I had to ask for help, I've never been to a party this fancy.

And everything has been so much fun - did you see the chocolate fountain? [ it's amazing! ]

[hevenly]

I did. I have not seen its like before.

[ She's wondering if the chocolate fountain is something Loki created himself— she would not put such a thing past the creativity of her brother— or if it is something that already exists on Earth.

Angela offers Mina a conspiratorial smile, leaning down to speak softly so that just she can hear. ]

Truth be told, I would not be here were Loki not my brother. I do not care for large parties such as this.

[ chocolate fountains are amazing, regardless of who created them. So Mina would thank Loki for it, if she knew it might have been him.

The pink girls snorts, amused at the admission ] Isn't because you haven't been to many?

[ but ] Woah, lucky you have family here! [ Mina might be a bit jealous, but she still grins ]

Hmmm- There are many Lokis around, tho. It's hard to keep up.

[hevenly]

[ She smirks. ] Yes, there is also that.

[ A fair observation. If Angela has to be stuck here with any of her family members, she is glad it is Loki. ]

Only two of them come from the same universe as I. But they are all my brothers. [ ... ] Except for when they are my sisters.

[pinkxeno]

[ two brothers named Loki from the same Universe? Angela, your parents should find better ways to name their kids.

Mina opens her mouth and then makes a confused face ]

What? [ no, really: what? ]

[hevenly]

[ It's a long story.

At Mina's confusion, Angela simply smiles. ]

Loki is a shapeshifter. Gender means little to him, and he changes it as suits his mood.

[pinkxeno]

Ohh, that's a cool quirk! [ Mina nods ]

Guess that makes it easier for him to just be whatever he likes!

[hevenly]

[ The term "quirk" is unfamiliar to Angela, but she assumes a meaning from context and moves past it. ]

Yes. And Loki, in all forms, is wont to do just that.

[pinkxeno]

That's really nice.

man, shapeshifting would be sweet. [ but that begs the question: ] What can you do?

[hevenly]

[ Angela grins. ]

I am very strong, and very fast.

[ She also turns into a minotaur twice a month, but that isn't an inborn power she posesses naturally, rather just something that happened to her. ]

[pinkxeno]

Super-strenght sure is common. [ but not super speed!

Mina leans a little towards the woman ] How fast can you go?

[hevenly]

[ Angela grins and backs away from Mina, crouching in preparation to move. She'll have to hike up her dress a bit, but that hardly bothers her. Usually she reserves her lightning-fast movement for the battlefield, but tonight she feels up for a little showing off.

Mina blinks, and Angela is gone, a gust of wind left in her place. One, two blinks more and she is back, holding two skewers of chocolate-dipped strawberries. She offers one to Mina, and takes a bite of the other.

(Keep in mind that the chocolate fountain is on the complete opposite end of the dance floor from the door to the balcony.) ]

[ Mina is left pretty much mouth open, eyes wide, and suddenly she squeals a little, jumping up at down ]

That was sooooo cool!!! You are so fast!! I think you are faster than Iida!! [ yeah she is excited. And Mina quickly takes a skewer, although she doesn't eat it yet and instead is waving her arms ] Can you like run across the whole town?

Oh-oh-oh!! Across the country?!!

[hevenly]

[ Angela can't help but smile, raising her eyebrows at Mina's excitement. ]

I'm afraid my speed is best left for short bursts. Running across the city is a bit beyond me.

Ohh... it's still pretty cool anyway! Super strength and super speed are great combos.
