[ welcome to the opherium. open to all metas, provided you’re up to the dress code. so make sure you’re dressed to the gills with your fanciest clothes or you might just be asked to leave. you’re ushered into a grand hall. there are appetizers like shrimp cocktails and little quiches placed on large tables for you to nibble on and champagne glasses being passed around by waiters. located in the middle is a large chocolate fountain for all you dessert lovers (loki. it’s for loki). grab yourself a drink and go hit up a familiar face. ]

( ii. dance dance )

[ and of course, once the mingling and networking is done, the staff come to clear the chairs away and leave plenty of room on the dance floor. the lights go dim, casting soft shadows against the wall. slow waltzes begin to filter through the hall as gently encouragement to go find a partner, maybe hold them close, enjoy a little . . . company and more.

or maybe you just want an excuse to step on someone’s foot. equally valid. in fact, there might be a little magic in the air that tugs you towards someone you want to be with . . . ]

( iii. star gazing )

[ the party is winding down. maybe you’re ready to go back. curl up on bed after a late night with drinks and dancing. or perhaps you’re feeling a touch of wistfulness, a need to seclude yourself after all that jazz. consider then, finding yourself a nice quiet corner on the upper levels of the theatre, where there are some nice balconies for you to collect yourself.

and there are always the stars to keep you company. ]

[ Mina is very used to resting-bitch-face-syndrome and she is not put off by it. In fact, she downright ignores it because Mina is Mina. ]

Nope, all good! I don't care much -[ it's just clothes to her. She glances back at Yusei, before she waves ] That's a different style from what I've seen tonight! [ the clothes, he means ]

Style?

[Yusei echoes the word with an almost dumbfounded air. Like he doesn't completely realize what she's talking about.

Then he looks himself over.]

...Ah. [Ah.] That's just a normal suit, though...? [He'd shrug, but, y'know. Food plates.] I may have...loosened it.

[that's more than loosening it, boy]

[ Mina laughs while she reaches for some of the food to eat it]

It's fine! You aren't all stuffy like everyone else.[ like her]

I'm Mina by the way! Are you a Meta? Or just working here?

[she will be sorely disappointed to see Yusei later on this evening, then, when Loki gets ahold of him and forces him to straighten out his suit. :(

but that is for later, and this is now, and right now Yusei is making sure the food tray is fixed while distractedly answering Mina's questions.]

She nods quickly ] Yeah, i am! [ if the pink skin and horns weren't a dead giveaway ] Arrived here like four months ago.

[he needs the money. :(]

Ah...I'm surprised I haven't seen you around sooner, then.

[He mentally counts back the time when he last remembered seeing things, and...]

For me, it was about two or three months ago, I think.

[Food tray is straightened out! Now time to put it on the table where it's supposed to be. oh boy!]

Anyways, you're doing well, then? [he assumes, since you were able to fancy up and atted here.]

[ Mina is still taking food from that tray because she likes to eat, but naturally she allows him to do his job ]

Uhm, I guess? I'm with the Aliance Guild and they have been pretty nice to me!

[ it means she doesn't need a job ]

[He'll gladly allow her to take what food she wants, but now he's curious. He hasn't really picked a guild to join yet, and he's genuinely wondering if he should.]

What is the Alliance Guild like, anyway?

[Food tray goes down on the table, and adjusted! nice.]

They give me free stuff. [ so YEAH. it's kind of cool because of that ] I got a house, food, I go to classes and do their missions.

[ she shrugs softly, still smiling ] Tons of people are wary to join a Guild, but they haven't forced me to do anything. And I think they are the good guys, you know? People who want to help others.

...Sometimes, even when people want to help, it doesn't always...work out that way.

[He thinks of Kiryu. Of Godwin, and his brother. Maybe his father could be included in the list as well. How such simple and pure desires led all of them to hells of their own creation.]

...You think they'll be okay, doing all this? Collecting us all together?

That's why we have to learn how to make it better, how to help better. [ she smiles ] I was being taught how to be a Hero back home, so I want to get really good.

Hmmm... guess it depends? I mean, we all come from different places. And not everyone wants or can be a hero, right? [ a pause ] There is also the villain league, so i guess we are not all... together, are we?

[Blink.]

You can learn how to be a hero?

[He honestly thought being heroic was something that people just...did. The idea of learning heroics seems kind of...cheapening?]

...No, I guess not. [If the Alliance and Villain Guilds were aggresively trying to scoop everyone to their sides, he'd probably be more worried. As it is, he just finds their presence to be disconcerting.]

Of course. If you don't learn, you could end up hurting people with your powers. [ she really doesn't understand why people find this so surprising. Doctors learn how to save lives, firefighters learn how to put out fires.,.. why wouldn't heroes learn to save people? ]

Well, nothing too terrible has happened yet, so maybe it will be okay!

Learning to control my abilities...

[...Yusei looks down at one of his hands for a moment. He could use that, honestly.]

Still, don't you think learning to control one's powers doesn't necesarily mean hero training, right...?

That's not all we learn. We learn how to assess situations, to see which is the best way to save someone. We also learn cooperation with others heroes, and of course, we learn how to use our powers in a way that will help rather than destroy.

[ Mina gives him a thumbs up ] basically: offense, defence, tactics, first-aid and such!
