( i. grand opening — mingle and drinks )

[ welcome to the opherium. open to all metas, provided you’re up to the dress code. so make sure you’re dressed to the gills with your fanciest clothes or you might just be asked to leave. you’re ushered into a grand hall. there are appetizers like shrimp cocktails and little quiches placed on large tables for you to nibble on and champagne glasses being passed around by waiters. located in the middle is a large chocolate fountain for all you dessert lovers (loki. it’s for loki). grab yourself a drink and go hit up a familiar face. ]

( ii. dance dance )

[ and of course, once the mingling and networking is done, the staff come to clear the chairs away and leave plenty of room on the dance floor. the lights go dim, casting soft shadows against the wall. slow waltzes begin to filter through the hall as gently encouragement to go find a partner, maybe hold them close, enjoy a little . . . company and more.

or maybe you just want an excuse to step on someone’s foot. equally valid. in fact, there might be a little magic in the air that tugs you towards someone you want to be with . . . ]

( iii. star gazing )

[ the party is winding down. maybe you’re ready to go back. curl up on bed after a late night with drinks and dancing. or perhaps you’re feeling a touch of wistfulness, a need to seclude yourself after all that jazz. consider then, finding yourself a nice quiet corner on the upper levels of the theatre, where there are some nice balconies for you to collect yourself.

and there are always the stars to keep you company. ]

I am able, yes.

[ He turns back to Loki, eyebrow raised. ]

[dothelokimotion]

[ loki grabs another strawberry to dip. ]

Care to elaborate then?

[intermingled]

When it does no harm and I... feel like it.

[ Amusement slipping into his voice. Indulgences come in many forms. This conversation feels a little like one in itself. ]

[dothelokimotion]

[ loki sidles closer. ]

And what do you feel like doing now?

[intermingled]

I am not normally one to speak on my feelings.

[ But then he reaches for his own strawberry, so they can't be much of a secret. A little indulgence tonight seems thematically appropriate. ]

[dothelokimotion]

Then why embrace the norm? It's a special night. Make it special.

[ with that, he plucks the strawberry from spock's fingers. loki dips it, only a little before holding out for him once more. ]

[intermingled]

[ Spock can tell when he's being teased, but the clear lack of malice makes it seem more pleasant, so he takes the strawberry between his fingers and bites it carefully where the chocolate is.

When he speaks again, his voice is a gentle, low rumble. ]

I believe I am stepping well out of my comfort zone as it is.

[dothelokimotion]

Well, then. You better not do it half way.

[intermingled]

You are not one for moderation, are you?

[ There's an edge of humor in his voice. ]

[dothelokimotion]

[ a loose shrug. ]

I just like to be committed. Commitment makes things grow.

[ he gestures to the theatre. ]

[intermingled]

[ Spock takes a moment to look around at everything Loki has accomplished here. It is impressive. ]

A fair and admirable point.

[ He raises an eyebrow and reaches for another strawberry to dip in the chocolate. ]

[dothelokimotion]

[ a low chuckle. ]

I have a few of those.

[intermingled]

And a healthy amount of confidence to have accomplished all of this.

[ After all, one must believe in oneself to try. ]

[dothelokimotion]

[ well. fake it until you make it. all of loki's confidence is built on sand anyway. ]

It helps I suppose.

[intermingled]

It is an impressive feat. I look forward to seeing what else you might do here.

[ At the very least, it seems like the sort of venue for artistic endeavors that Spock is likely to enjoy and as he's still finding his footing on this world, it is easier when he starts to feel a sense of something structured. ]

[ oh. that's nice to hear and the tips of his ears go a little pink. ]
