( i. grand opening — mingle and drinks )
[ welcome to the opherium. open to all metas, provided youâre up to the dress code. so make sure youâre dressed to the gills with your fanciest clothes or you might just be asked to leave. youâre ushered into a grand hall. there are appetizers like shrimp cocktails and little quiches placed on large tables for you to nibble on and champagne glasses being passed around by waiters. located in the middle is a large chocolate fountain for all you dessert lovers (loki. itâs for loki). grab yourself a drink and go hit up a familiar face. ]
( ii. dance dance )
[ and of course, once the mingling and networking is done, the staff come to clear the chairs away and leave plenty of room on the dance floor. the lights go dim, casting soft shadows against the wall. slow waltzes begin to filter through the hall as gently encouragement to go find a partner, maybe hold them close, enjoy a little . . . company and more.
or maybe you just want an excuse to step on someoneâs foot. equally valid. in fact, there might be a little magic in the air that tugs you towards someone you want to be with . . . ]
( iii. star gazing )
[ the party is winding down. maybe youâre ready to go back. curl up on bed after a late night with drinks and dancing. or perhaps youâre feeling a touch of wistfulness, a need to seclude yourself after all that jazz. consider then, finding yourself a nice quiet corner on the upper levels of the theatre, where there are some nice balconies for you to collect yourself.
and there are always the stars to keep you company. ]

[ Technically he also can do acrobatics, but of course he just pretends technomancy is his only ability. ]
Maybe so. Seems like a pain to do all that when they could just give it to us. It wouldn't go to waste!

[ She is genuinely thrilled by this, Doreen is a huge computer science geek! ]
The Fence is the guy who sells the stolen stuff after the big heist! So like, if we were pulling an Oceans 11 and stealing a diamond, the Fence would be the guy who knows someone who's looking to buy a diamond, and can do the deal without attracting attention from the fuzz.
... Admittedly, this kinda falls apart when we're talking about liquid chocolate. Man, what if they just did gift bags? Or we could buy a bunch of candy bars and just melt them over a barbeque lighter or something.

No, it'sâŚwell, it's more like a feeling? Like I can see what's going on. Oh, notâŚnot literally see. I mean, in the simulation thing a little bit ago I could see the code at one point until the hack happened, so that's sort of visual. But with machines and stuff, it's like nonverbal. Straight up speaking in code would be pretty cool though.
[ He's happy to talk about it. He's completely open about the computer thing to distract from the Spider-Man thing (not that he's successful at that all the time, but it's an attempt). ]
Ohhh, gotcha, okay. Fence. Gotta be someone with a kid who can't get enough chocolate, then.
[ It does fall apart, but who cares? This is the most entertaining conversation he's had in a minute. ]
Barbeque lighter definitely is the budget choice, huh? But I bet it's not always liquid for this fountain, so if we can find the mix or solid we can just steal that to sell on the black market.
[ A beat. ]
Oh, right. I'm Peter, by the way.

[ Whew, that was a close save! Doreen isn't technically 'in costume' here, apart from the headband, she almost got too relaxed and let her guard down! ]
Man, I'm sorry you got caught up in that whole simulation mess. I dipped outta the convention after buying some action figures, but it sounded awful. I like how this chocolate heist is developing though; now we just have to find that kid from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory who fell into the chocolate fountain, he'd be the ideal client.
