[ Away from others in a pleasant little aesthetically cultivated grove, Loki has draped his coat over a boulder and has his sleeves rolled up as he awaits those with appointments to undergo his new spell. He warned them of the unpleasant side-effects (re-living the best and worst moments of their life) and he has a little bag stuffed with pain-killers, bottles of water, tissues, chocolate biscuits for sugar crashers??? He doesn't know how some may react but assumes that anyone who knows what they might experience feels it is a price worth paying to learn their universal designation.

When you arrive, he hitches up a smile and beckons you over under the dappled sunlight. ]

"You'll be connecting to your memories so deeply that my spell will be touching the source of your existence, your soul, if you want to get pretty about it. Like a harpoon, the spell uses your memories as targets and aims for the correct universe.

"The stronger the emotion, the sharper the aim."

"That sounds a lot like the black rings. One of those nearly put me on the wrong side of the zombie apocalypse..."

Loki snorts.

"Well, I don't have any rings, black or otherwise, and I don't have the Infinity Stones to send you to the zombie-earth, so I think we're good."

He gestures to the grove's centre in the sunlight, the grass downtrodden by those who came before Bart.

"I'll ask one final time, are you sure you want to do this?"

"This was more anti-life, anyway. And I'm interested, mostly because I'm not sure where I'm from anymore. The only bit I know is that I'm always connected to the Speed Force, regardless of which reality I'm in. I don't know if that will throw you off or not."

He didn't really understand all of this, but it was magic, so he supposed he wasn't meant to. It made sense, and Bart went to sit in the middle of the clearing, dropping into an easy half-lotus position and watching the god with mild wariness.

"Can you tell me more about the speed-force before we begin? I don't want it to sucker-punch me out of the blue."

Whatever it is. Sounds speedy ... and ominous.

"In my world, speedsters, well, the true speedsters, not just people with superspeed, all share a connection to the Speed Force. We generate it, and it gives us powers. I don't really understand it, I know it has a degree of self-awareness and intention, but it's also this extradimensional power that tends to manifest as something like lightning when it flows into our kind of space. But it exists outside space and time, and anyone connected is a part of it forever. I've merged with it before, and when I was dead, that's where they pulled this me out of," Bart said, well aware that this is about as clear as mud, and the sucking bog kind of mud at that.

"It's just...well, I've been a speedster my whole life. It's why I'm technically the fastest Flash, although it's a pretty small distinction. I suppose I could pull some of the energy here so you get a feel for it."

Up go his hands.

"No need, thank you. If anything feels like it's slapping my hands for casting on you I'll be the first person behind that conveniently large boulder over there."

He spreads his hands and green magic shimmers to life, threads weaving as he raises his palms toward Bart.

"Close your eyes and think of the best memories you can. You will feel warm or cold, ignore it and block out the world."

Bart does that, falling into an easy meditation, thinking back on some of the best days, like when Max and Helen got him a puppy, or meeting his mom for the first time, and so many other things, across time and even his own death. His team, the friends he's made across time and space, all are who he is, where he comes from. He does make a point not to dwell on memories of the imPort world, because it isn't his, for all that he's made good memories there as well.

But for him, the thing that grounds him, that ties him to reality and keeps him from getting potentially lost in the vastness of the Speed Force like some before him are the people. They're home. Max, Jay, Tim, Kon, Cassie, Cissie, Raven, Gar, so many people over his short life, but all important. His grandparents, and even his cousin, as little as they usually get along. So many people.
