Neither have I. What are they?

Macarons. Small pastries with a fine cream in the center. Apparently fairly fussy to make and good with tea.

[ He adores tea, and that shared interest already makes this a pleasant afternoon. ]

I am particularly fond of desserts.

[ Excellent, he chose a good host gift then. ]

You did have that beautiful spread at the gala. People are still talking of the chocolate fountain.

When I was young, we didn't have chocolate on Asgard. So the idea of a chocolate fountain seemed mythical to me.

And what's the verdict, having lived this myth?

I quite enjoyed it, though I hoped it'd be taller.

I'm sure we could make adjustments for your next event.

Perhaps. It'll be a while before I host another party. I need to focus on productions for now.

[portolan]

You have one started then? I admit I have not been to the theater in some time -- I'm looking forward.

One I held in Asgard before coming here. But I'm also researching into other pieces of literature as well.

[ look he even says it with a straight face. He's had everything left in the inventory combed over, again, and Strange will look at anything he's loaning out. it's fine. ]

[ he smiles faintly. ]

How have you been since Excelsior?

[portolan]

Tired.

[ he admits it quicker than he maybe intends to. ]

Frayed. There were things from before I had been quite honestly avoiding dealing with. And some other things I am still going to have to.

[ Like how he can kill people by transferring wounds. Or how he wasn't even aware his partner was being nearly murdered by a demon and protected by the ex that had caused their initial fall out. ]

I suppose relieved, too. There are some people I quite care for I'm closer to as a result of those events. Met a few new people too.

[ He returns the faint smile at that. ]

[ he shrugs. ]

I am mostly unharmed. There are a few weaknesses I will see to, but I will get there.

Honestly, I'm glad to hear it.

[ He does feel responsible, okay. ]

Mm. It will settle. These things are common here.

I'm starting to piece that together. And here I thought things would be quieter here.

They can be, if you understand how to navigate them. It's not a complicated place.

Was your last world like this, then? Mine very much was not.

[ he shakes his head slowly. ]

Asgard is nothing like Earth. But I have some experience with Earth and heroes, so the transition did not trouble me.

[portolan]

[ He wonders how much this Loki's Asgard has in common with the other two Loki's. ]

I'm glad for you then. Honestly, I've done better than I expected. Digital communications and the general lack of murderous beasts are both an improvement.

I don't know. A few murderous beasts could be nice. I like a little spontaneity in life.

Alright, cheers to that. I do miss a good hunt. And seeing wildlife about -- it's strange being tied to one place week after week.
