[ The park has been commandeered to host all kinds of fun activities, stalls and various things for families to do. Colourful green tents and banners, all emblazoned with Loki’s symbolic helm are littered all throughout the park with helpful signs navigating tourists and locals to the myriad of potential amusements for everyone to enjoy.

First, you should help yourself to one of the gift bags. Full of goodies such as Loki bobble heads, a plastic helm tailored to your head size and a green snake as a pin. If you’re not keen on these and try to dispose of them, they will find a magical way to cling to you. Perhaps if you find a creative way of getting rid of it, the spell may fail.

But don’t get caught up in the goodies. There are plenty of games and competitions for people to try out! For instance, there is a dagger throwing competition where you can win a protective runestone made by Loki himself. The daggers are made of rubber and you’re required to hit the moving Thor-gets — targets.

May your aim be true.

Or perhaps you’d like something a little less challenging. There’s a cosplay competition where the “best dressed Loki” wins a free dinner and a chance to shake hands with the mayor. Even if you lack the costume, there are bins of convenient Loki costumes (ranging from poor quality to high) for you to try out.

Do your best Loki impression and win that free dinner!

And because this is Sunset Falls, there is a best bowtie competition for your dogs to try out. The winner gets a one-of-a-kind bowtie from Loki.

Of course, it’s not all games. There are vendors with all kinds of food, ranging from corndogs to cotton candy. You can even pick up some flavoured boba tea or lemonade as you wander through the festival. There are even small plays artifully re-enacted around so you can get a glimpse at Loki's life.

So come by! Enjoy the festivities! ]

I. Bobblehead

[All of this reminds him a little of the islands, which is... a mixed bag. He did learn some things about himself during that long carnival, and even enjoyed himself for some of it, but as with all things there, it wasn't entirely his choice.

This is. He chose Loki, and he chose to come here in support of him, pushing down the part of himself that still wants to dismiss this as nonsense.

He accepts one of the goodie bags on entering, and stands for a moment near the entrance looking wryly amused by the bobblehead. He turns it over a few times, gives it a shake, and laughs softly.]


II. Dagger Throwing

[Sephiroth is actually quite good at games like this, and having Thor as a target provides an added incentive. He may not be used to rubber weapons, but he compensates quickly.]

No. Keep the prize for the next person. [He doesn't need such an impersonal charm.]

I don't suppose there's a version with real knives...?


III. Around!

[Sephiroth can be found wandering most areas of the park. You might even catch him eating a corndog.

Is it strange to relax like this? But aren't there things to celebrate? Central has its own problems, but Sephiroth hasn't lost time since Loki went into his mind. Whatever else is going on, whoever was behind that, it's good to be in control of himself.

Although some of his wandering will take him to the small cemetery at the northernmost end of the park, where he stands looking like he's trying to remember something.]

I can't really risk the threat of injury, can I?

[ he seemingly steps out of nowhere, dressed in his usual black suit and tie. though this time, he is wearing his helm upon his head with its gleaming horns. ]

[Sephiroth looks over at him, lips quirking towards a smile.]

Injury to whom? Do you think I would miss so badly?

Who said I was worried about you? It's everyone else I'm concerned about.

Well, you need not offer real weapons to everyone.

Perhaps next time I shall introduce that caveat.

I do approve of your choice of targets.

[ he shrugs. ]

If Thor wishes to complain, he can come here and do it.

[ but he won't and loki frowns at himself for thinking it. ]

[Sephiroth eyes him for a moment.]

You wish he would?

[ does he? yes, some deep part of loki still misses thor. still wished they had more time. still hoped there was some part of thor that missed him too, that wished loki had come back to him. some resolution.

but he ruthlessly puts it aside. ]

Not particularly. This day is about me.

[Okay. They can be in denial today, that's fine.]

[ Balthier catches the tail end of Sephiroth's performance and laughs, warm memories of hustling fairs like this at home. ]

I'm sure I could procure some knives if that's what you're in the mood for. Good to see you.

[Sephiroth blinks, because it has been a while, but it's not an unpleasant surprise.]

Balthier.

No, I've no great need today of destroying anything. It simply seems a bit childish.

[portolan]

[ Balthier raises his brows, head tilting toward the group of youngsters nearby. ]

I'm not sure how festivals work on your world, but yes, they are often designed for children.

[Sephiroth will step away from the booth, allowing said youngsters more space to throw their rubber knives.]

I wouldn't know. I never attended any festivals on my Planet.

Always good to expand one's horizons.

[ Balthier watches in amusement as youth who will likely never have need for a weapon poorly attempt to throw the misbalance rubber props at rigged targets. ]

I will say there is more fried food here than I have ever experienced in my life. Also, now that we're out of earshot, you do know the grand majority of all carnival and festival activities are rigged, yes?

Yes. I did attend a carnival once before.

I wound up banned from most of the games. They prefer that you don't win.

Yes that would be the point of the rigging. Have you ever heard the house always wins? Same principal.

No, I suppose you aren't a gambler. House just means the owner of whatever the event or entertainment establishment is. They typically have systems in place to ensure things are profitable, and bans and security for when it isn't.

I did in my youth.
