[Given all the wild events that have happened in Central City over the last few months, business hasn't been the greatest for Descendant Karaoke Bar and Lounge. The place isn't going to close anytime soon but it's hard for some people to be in the mood to drink and do off-key karaoke when there's been a parasite invasion, the Society's takeover of the city, and the Alliance’s divisive actions. Arcadia's guards being all over the city, including at Descendant, certainly isn't making things better either.

While Jason and others have been doing their best to get rid of the guards in various ways (with some ways being more aggressive than others), there's only so much they can do without drawing even more unwanted attention to the place.

So after some private discussions between Jason and Dick and then some staff meetings to work out more details, Descendant Karaoke Bar and Lounge is trying something new to rake in more money. For a few weeks these events get advertised under all of Descendant's social media accounts.

This month, if you come visit during certain evenings, you'll immediately see how drastically different these events are from Descendant's usual speakeasy-esque ambiance.

The more energetic songs from Descendant's playlist are getting more play and at louder volumes. There are also a few other songs to further spice things up like Work This Body, Rain On Me, and Can't Fight the Moonlight. Extra bouncers are posted to maintain the "look but no touching the employees" rule. The crowd's pumped up and much of their attention is directed at the bartenders.

Jason and Dick are in tight pants and tight wet t-shirts that blatantly show off their well-toned figures. They're performing flashy bar tricks as they serve up drinks. Water keeps getting sprayed on them. Sometimes they dance on the bar. Sometimes they lightly roast customers. It's all in good fun. And of course, there's a big tip jar in the middle of the bar.

Some of the other employees are also dressed in tight outfits and take turns performing. But it's clear much of the attention goes to Jason and Dick.

The hardest part was finding green pants. Actual pants.

[Dick was a trailblazer but no way was Dick ever trying the short pants.]

[Jason barks out a laugh. He knows how ridiculous the green shorts were. He wore them too when he first started as Robin]

Let me guess. You had to do camouflage pants.

[lightmyself]

No, I got green pants in the end. Did find them at the Army Navy store, but managed to avoid camo. I know that's more your style.

[robintohood]

I'm a fan of black too. It goes with everything.

So how did you do as an unofficial Robin?

[lightmyself]

[Duke gives a little shrug there, not exactly confident, but not shy either.]

I wasn't the only one. We were all doing what we could. But when it was over I wasn't ready for it to be over...you know? I still had more I could do to help. So I didn't stop. That could be the running theme of how I ended up in the family.

[robintohood]

[Jason snorts]

No one normal joins this family so that sounds about right. Gotta be already committed to the family business even before your first costume.

[lightmyself]

Hey, I am normal compared to the guy who put a bomb in his helmet.

[He's not taking "normal" talk from Jason of all people. But then he remembers...]

Oh wait. Did you do that? Maybe that's just a "my Jason" thing.

[robintohood]

[With a tone that's probably way too casual for the current topic]

Yeah, that's a thing for me too. And hey, I never said I was normal.

[lightmyself]

So it's a "Jason" thing. I'm not surprised.

[Not at all.]

...But you don't wear the Bat. No "I'm out to make B mad by doing what I want with the Bat-logo."

[robintohood]

No. I got different reasons.

[Jason's tone becomes more serious]

Look, I know other versions somehow come back to the family. We got one of those versions here too. He's out in New York last I checked. But that's not what happened with me. It wasn't too long ago that Bruce and I fought. Then the Confluence happened.

[lightmyself]

[This is very obviously a touchy subject. Duke holds up his hands.]

Hey, if you don't want to wear the Bat, no one should be making you. It's not like wearing one makes you a Bat or not. That's all up to you.

[robintohood]

Right. Just don't get the wrong idea about me. Hell, I hadn't even talked to Dick in years until he showed up here.

[lightmyself]

[How could he possibly get the wrong idea about a Jason Todd who teases younger Bats, is keeping an eye on the crime around a Gotham-like city, collects kids who need help, and puts bombs in a red helmet?]

Wouldn't dream of getting the wrong idea. Whatever that is.

[robintohood]

[Yep. Absolutely a very different Jason Todd. Almost unrecognizable!]

Right. Good thing the manor's huge with all people B keeps picking up apparently.

[lightmyself]

[Does it really count when Duke picked up Bruce first?]

It makes the holidays fun, at least.

[robintohood]

[Jason snorts]

And packed. Kinda weird to imagine. It used to be just me, Alfred, Bruce, and Dick. Sometimes Babs would come over.

[lightmyself]

[Mood lightened? Mission accomplished.]

I bet it was a lot quieter. Between all of us and all the pets, I don't know how Alfred manages it all like the master he is.

[robintohood]

Please tell me it's not a menagerie. Alfred's overworked enough already.

[Is he going to acknowledge that Alfred's dead in at least one universe? For now, nope]

[lightmyself]

Most of the animals are Damians. He helps take care of them. They used to keep Batcow in the Cave but then they finished building the barn. She gets a lot really well with Alfred and he barely likes anyone except Damian.

[Yes he just said all of that with a straight face.]

[robintohood]

[Jason stares]

Batcow.

[lightmyself]

Uh, yeah. Batcow. What about it?

[He's so used to it it's not even weird.]

[robintohood]

Batcow as in it was a science experiment gone wrong like Man-Bat or an actual cow?

[Jason almost can't believe he has to ask that question]

[lightmyself]

OH. She's...both? Well, she's a cow. Just a cow. But some criminals were experimenting on her and Damian adopted her after Batman and Robin saved her.

[robintohood]

[Wat...]

Weird. Seems like she would better fit in Smallville than in Gotham.

[lightmyself]

Bruce suggested that, but Damian wasn't having it.

[Duke chuckled then.]

Not like we couldn't make room for her.
