[Given all the wild events that have happened in Central City over the last few months, business hasn't been the greatest for Descendant Karaoke Bar and Lounge. The place isn't going to close anytime soon but it's hard for some people to be in the mood to drink and do off-key karaoke when there's been a parasite invasion, the Society's takeover of the city, and the Alliance’s divisive actions. Arcadia's guards being all over the city, including at Descendant, certainly isn't making things better either.

While Jason and others have been doing their best to get rid of the guards in various ways (with some ways being more aggressive than others), there's only so much they can do without drawing even more unwanted attention to the place.

So after some private discussions between Jason and Dick and then some staff meetings to work out more details, Descendant Karaoke Bar and Lounge is trying something new to rake in more money. For a few weeks these events get advertised under all of Descendant's social media accounts.

This month, if you come visit during certain evenings, you'll immediately see how drastically different these events are from Descendant's usual speakeasy-esque ambiance.

The more energetic songs from Descendant's playlist are getting more play and at louder volumes. There are also a few other songs to further spice things up like Work This Body, Rain On Me, and Can't Fight the Moonlight. Extra bouncers are posted to maintain the "look but no touching the employees" rule. The crowd's pumped up and much of their attention is directed at the bartenders.

Jason and Dick are in tight pants and tight wet t-shirts that blatantly show off their well-toned figures. They're performing flashy bar tricks as they serve up drinks. Water keeps getting sprayed on them. Sometimes they dance on the bar. Sometimes they lightly roast customers. It's all in good fun. And of course, there's a big tip jar in the middle of the bar.

Some of the other employees are also dressed in tight outfits and take turns performing. But it's clear much of the attention goes to Jason and Dick.

[Jason snickers at Duke's embarrassment. Jason's been dancing and getting soaked for a couple of hours now and judging by the packed-in tip jars, it's been well worth it]

We're just giving people what they like.

[lightmyself]

Yeah, I can see that.

[Except not looking at him because no. This is not what he likes Jason.]

I think your adoring fans are missing you. You don't have to stay over here to keep me company. Not that I don't appreciate it! Just I know you're probably really busy...

[robintohood]

Nah. I need to take a break anyway. We got plenty of people covering for me. Let me get changed and we'll talk some more in my office.

[lightmyself]

[Duke feels both embarrassed and touched.]

You sure? I can come back on a day when you're less...[naked]...busy.

[robintohood]

[Jason has learned that better to know a new family member sooner than later. It could come useful down in the road]

Yeah, it's fine. You're here anyway.

[Jason starts to lead the way]

[lightmyself]

Whatever you say. It's your bar.

[Duke doesn't try to refuse this time, and instead shrugs and gets up, following after Jason into the back.]

[The noise of the happy crowd somewhat lessens as they head towards the back of the building. He unlocks the door to his office and swaps out his wet crop top for a dry t-shirt. He then shuts and locks the door.

The office is rather boring looking for the most part. In the center of the room is a metal desk, an office chair for Jason, and a couple of wooden chairs for guests. Against one wall are a couple of file cabinets. One of those cabinets has a dent from Jason punching it once]

Met the rest of the family yet?

[lightmyself]

[Simple, but probably fortified a lot more than the basic set up looks. He bets there's at least two cameras and a mic stashed around the room somewhere. He almost starts to assess where before reminding himself that's rude.]

Uh...a few? It's hard to tell sometimes with the alternate realities thing going on. Pretty sure it's not everyone.

[robintohood]

[Duke would not be wrong about the security of the building]

I think at last count we're up to two Dicks, me and the other Jason, two Tims, Damian, B, you, and then there's Dana who's from a future Gotham where her boyfriend became Batman after B.

[lightmyself]

That's...a lot. Way more than I thought.

[So many doubles, it's kind of crazy to even think about. A Bruce who doesn't know any of them was already too much but. Take it a bit at a time Duke. Focus on pieces and don't let the immense nature of it get too overwhelming...]

Has anyone heard from Damian recently? I know he may not know me, being that much older, but I wanted to see how he was doing. And introduce myself, I guess.

[Duke's always going to look out for Damian. It's what they do.]

[robintohood]

The other Jay might've. Seems like he knows him the best. Otherwise, that guy's largely been a ghost to most of us. I'm not even sure if he's living in Central.

[lightmyself]

Oh.

[That doesn't sound right. Sure, maybe this version of Damian could be pricklier or less trusting. He can't imagine how he grew up if he and Bruce didn't even get along. But Duke also can't ignore that there's a Damian out there who isn't with their family and could need more people on his side.]

So I guess that means the other Jay might know how to find him, right?

[robintohood]

Most likely, yeah. Why? Thinking about finding them?

[Jason's relationship with Damian is largely nonexistent as Damian doesn't exist in his world as far as he knows. But he can guess Duke's connection to Damian is very different]

[lightmyself]

Something like that.

[More like he's already decided it's exactly what he's doing.]

He's older, but he's still my little bro, you know? I want to make sure he's good.

[He doesn't know how to feel about two of his older brothers being his little brothers here, or Damian being that much older. And Damian has always outclassed Duke in most things, but he's still Duke's little brother. It means something to him.

Maybe Dick and Cass are rubbing off on him...]

[robintohood]

Wow. You really have been with the family for a while. Before the Confluence, I didn't have younger siblings.

[Jason's gotten... comfortable? Content-ish? With having younger siblings after being on this Earth for over a year. But there are still plenty of moments when he finds the idea of having a larger somewhat more stable family alien]

[lightmyself]

It's been over a year of living at the Manor, but we kind of knew each other for a while before that...

[Sort of. He's known Bruce since he was a kid. Before a lot of things happened.]

[robintohood]

Been in Gotham all your life then?

[Jason suspects there's more to the story but for now he'll let Duke se the pace on that]

[lightmyself]

Narrows born and bred.

[You don't come from an area like that in Gotham without having some kind of run in with Batman or the rest of the family. And it seems only fair to share considering how much he knows about Jason--assuming most of his life before he died was the same.]

[robintohood]

[Jason can't help but smirk a little at the mention of the Narrows. Duke's definitely a local]

No wonder you clicked so well with the rest of us.

[lightmyself]

[He laughs just a bit.]

You could say I took imitation as a form of flattery too far for a while...

Yeah? Not everyone can rock the red, yellow, and green combo.

[The Robin days are bittersweet for Jason now but not all bad]

[lightmyself]

The hardest part was finding green pants. Actual pants.

[Dick was a trailblazer but no way was Dick ever trying the short pants.]

[robintohood]

[Jason barks out a laugh. He knows how ridiculous the green shorts were. He wore them too when he first started as Robin]

Let me guess. You had to do camouflage pants.

[lightmyself]

No, I got green pants in the end. Did find them at the Army Navy store, but managed to avoid camo. I know that's more your style.

[robintohood]

I'm a fan of black too. It goes with everything.
