[He gets to his feet, looking around.]

How many?

[honeybadgerer]

Maybe two or three. Why?

[levelshift]

That's not too many. [Certainly not now that he has an idea of how their bioelectricity functions.] Let's get their attention - and the attention of any other carnivores you've got here - and draw them towards us. Then we can take them all out at once. It'll be faster.

[honeybadgerer]

How do we do that?

Yell a lot and pretend to be food?

[levelshift]

Basically.

[He pulls his phone out, Googling for a video of injured animal noises.]

You've already got us part way there with that raptor's injury. Other dinosaurs will probably smell the blood.

[Once he finds a video he turns the sound up and plays it. It sounds pretty horrendous due to the subject matter, but Accelerator's attention is on their surroundings, looking for any signs of approaching predators.]

[honeybadgerer]

Right.

[ her bone claw comes out once more. ]

I better get to high ground.

[levelshift]

Don't go too far.

[Mostly because he wants to keep an eye on her, even if he's the one being bait right now with the phone and all.]

[honeybadgerer]

Yeah, yeah.

[ she's pretty dismissive, but why wouldn't she be? after all, she's nearly unbeatable. ]

[levelshift]

[Accelerator frowns a little at that (a kid her age shouldn't be so blasé about being in a dangerous situation) but they've got more important things to deal with right now.

Namely, the rustling that's coming from behind one of the houses after a few minutes.]

[honeybadgerer]

[ gabby creeps out from the bushes, his boneclaw at the ready. ]

[levelshift]

[More raptors have indeed shown up, and taken the bait. The first one is going for a straightforward head-on attack, while the other circles around behind Accelerator and launches itself at him.

He's still got his choker set to esper mode so he isn't too concerned, just standing there boredly.]

[honeybadgerer]

Surprise~!

[ she leaps onto the back of one of the raptors, immediately putting it in a chokehold. ]

[levelshift]

[While Gabby deals with that raptor the second one lunges at Accelerator's back. As he closes the video and puts his phone away it runs straight into his reflection, and winds up on the ground, completely knocked out.]

[honeybadgerer]

[ she whistles. ]

Nice. That wasn't magic, right?

[levelshift]

No. [He glances behind himself, raising an eyebrow at the unconscious raptor.] I'm an esper, I've got psychic powers.

[And he glances back over at Gabby.]

You don't have any fucking t-rexes or some shit, do you?

[honeybadgerer]

Uh.

I have . . . one?

[levelshift]

... Great.

[Accelerator reaches up to rub the bridge of his noise, riiiight as some ominous stomping starts making the ground shake.]

[honeybadgerer]

It's not so bad! Just . . . don't get eaten?

[levelshift]

[This kid.......]

I should be telling you that. You're so small a t-rex could eat you in one bite.

[honeybadgerer]

Yeah, but I'd probably be able to cut myself out.

Still, I'd hate to do that. Poor guy.

[levelshift]

All the more reason for you to not fight this thing. I'll take care of it.

[honeybadgerer]

You are?

[ huh. ]

[levelshift]

Yeah.

[Raptors are one thing. They're smaller and even though they're smart, they're not as smart as an actual person. A t-rex, right? Those things are big, and he seriously doesn't want to see Gabby get eaten or stepped on.

He retracts his crutch and rests a hand against the side of his head, cracking his neck as the stomping gets louder. In another moment that t-rex is coming from the corner, within view.]

Stay here, and if any of these raptors wake up punch them.

[ she nods. ]
