What: It's their friendiversary! Smoochiversary? They've been Something for a year.

[Things have been a little shaky between them of late, but as they promised at the start, they are working to mend it. This relationship, whatever anyone might want to call it, has lasted a full year. It's an achievement that Sephiroth would not have thought himself capable of... connecting with someone, and holding onto that connection.

That seems worthy of acknowledgement, even celebration. Perhaps especially because of Loki's recent doubts, Sephiroth has taken it upon himself to create a memorable evening.

Or at least try to? He does not have Loki's dramatic flair. He does, however, arrive at Loki's door with a bouquet he chose himself after researching flower meanings, because research he can do.]

Yes. I don't care for that disconnect either.

I didn't think so. You always owned up to your actions.

[That seems like an odd thing for Loki to remark on.]

You don't feel you own up to things?

[And yet he's so hard on himself for his actions.]

Not in their entirety.

[ loki is hard on himself because he's afraid of what the reverse would be. and even then, he gives himself a lot of leeway. he doesn't want to be chained to regret and make that his impetus for agency, but the fear never truly leaves. ]

Well... some things can take time.

[He's never wanted to push Loki into revealing things to him, as much as he's certain it wouldn't change his feelings. If there's more Loki feels he hasn't owned up to... it can wait.]

[ loki shoots him a grateful look. ]

No. If it's something you'd like to achieve, then I have faith.

[ his expression softens. ]

[Sephiroth's expression eases, too.]

It does. Knowing there is someone who has faith in you . . . it's everything.

[His smile widens. It means a great deal, too, to be that for someone.]

You are . . . so much to me.

[ he doesn't say eerything even though he wants to. ]

[Sephiroth recognizes that Loki may have meant more than that, but he reads it for something like his own struggle to express himself.]

I feel the same.

[ he smiles before ducking his head a little. as sappy as he can be, even in public, he can't keep it up for too long. ]

[ he chuckles, raising his glass. ]

[Sephiroth lifts his glass to meet it.]

[ loki clinks their glasses delicately. ]

[Sephiroth sips his wine.]

One wonders where another year might find us.

We do seem to jumping from world to world.

Which I don't mind, in theory.
