[ Much like Loki's last party-venture, this is set up very much in the same vein. a large ballroom for dancing needs. Tables and waiters passing around hors d'oeuvres and drinks. At the entrance of the ball room, there’s a fancy mask waiting for you if you don’t have one already. There’s a strict dress code for the event this time and Loki expects everyone to dress accordingly.
The masks also have a spell attached to them. They’ll afford you complete privacy. No one will recognize you under the mask. Unless, of course, you take it off and let them know. Perfect for the party guest who may want to indulge without causing a fuss. Hit up a partner and see where the evening takes you.
This event wouldn’t be complete without candy, of course. There are candies arranged on the tables in all types and colors. In front of them is a small description regarding each kind of candy. Be sure to read them carefully, as Loki has added a little . . . extra to the sweets, to give them a little . . . zing. ]
🍫 White Chocolate: For those who needs a little honesty ( truth effect )
🍷 Alcoholic Chocolate: For those who need to loosen up ( slight aphro effects, please mark headers accordingly and communicate! )
🍬 Sour Candy: For those who are tired of being nice ( shorter tempers )
🍓 Fruit Candy: For those who need to open up ( increased generosity )
If you have a question or comment to direct at the host, Loki is by the entrance dressed in red and gold with a mask to boot. he’s instantly recognizable, compared to the masked attendees. ]
Welcome.
Jason Todd | OTA
Tonight he's dressed like a steampunk aristocrat (sans cane, sunglasses, and hat) and even gave himself a skunk stripe. He also has his own mask to match as he doesn't trust the ones provided by the other Loki for now.
He casually picks up a white chocolate candy and reads the description but won't eat it for now. At the moment, he's more interesting to see who else has shown up. The enhanced masks are making things tricky]

She glances over and sees Jason take the white chocolate. A faint flash of recognition. Well... that's a first for the evening. Not enough to be 100% sure but more than she's felt so far.]
I wouldn't wait too long to have that. It'll make a mess of your gloves if it melts.
no subject
I'm just wondering what's the different between this and the alcoholic chocolates. Judging by the descriptions, both would be alcohol.
no subject
She taps her cheek thoughtfully as she looks between the two groups.]
Hmmm... I admit, I've heard it called liquid courage, not so much liquid honesty. If there were alcohol in both, our host would likely have been prudent enough to label both sets as such, in case people are abstaining. That's not something to leave ambiguous in a gathering this big.
[She takes a fruit candy for herself and nibbles experimentally. Given the high-brow event, it's probably something like gourmet fruits slices, idk.]
no subject
[Jason eats his chocolate before it melts on his gloves. They're nice leather gloves dang it]
no subject
How does it taste? Do you like it?
no subject
no subject
Mmm, yes, they're gummies! There's a lot of sugar, it throws the texture off a bit. But the fruit flavor's strong.
[She folds an assortment of slices into a napkin and tucks the bundle... behind her back? When she brings her hand back, the bundle's gone. ~Magic~]
So, sticking with your own mask tonight? That's a bold choice.

[The man coming up beside Jason while he considers chocolates smiles under his mask at the other man. That said, between his coat, hat, and cane, he didn't pull it off as well as Jason. Especially since his mask is one of the plainer ones provided by the host.
Honestly, Mark had been compelled to the color scheme, and steam-punk apparently didn't overflow with silver as an access when there was brass to work with. Oh well.]
no subject
[He nods at Mark]
Glad I'm not the only one tonight. Nice hat.
no subject
Wonder if I can still...
[He had some practice of fancy displays with them from musical theater in high school, and after a moment he did some fancy spinning, flipping, and rolling of it over his arm and around his hands before flipping it onto his head. Then he winced.]
Ouch, the weight is not right for that. I don't recommend it.
no subject
You nearly made it look good at least. It could've fallen off.
no subject
It really could have. Honestly, it probably should have. I'm feeling lucky today.
no subject
Yeah, so far tonight's been nice. Our host's certainly got a flair for the ornate.
no subject
I mean, he's supposed to be a god, right? And that makes it make sense that he's got things extravagant.

It doesn't matter much in his case, because he arrived in this world only a few weeks ago, and it's the first time he's attended one of these parties. Practically no one knows him, and he also doesn't know anyone, which is why he's attempting to socialize. The key word being 'attempting'.
He has to politely, but insistently, decline the invitation of one of the guests who clearly has had one too many alcoholic chocolates. In his haste to put some more distance between the person and himself, Jayce turns and almost collides into Jason, stopping himself at the last minute. ]
Oh, sorry, I was, ehm...[ He looks briefly over his shoulder, and grimaces briefly. When he faces Jason again, Jayce gives him a smile and blurts out. ] Would you like to dance?
no subject
Sure.
[His voice is confident, calm and probably just loud enough for the buzzed guest to hear]
Nice robes by the way.
no subject
[ The new smile Jayce offers him is both more relieved and sincere. He motions towards the dance floor, giving a small bow. ]
Do you have a preference? I don't mind either way. [ About being the one leading the dance or following. Jayce is adaptable. ]
no subject
No preference. Been a while since I did this though. These kind of shindigs aren't a regular thing for me.
no subject
[ Jayce gives him a reassuring smile and if Jason really has no opposition, he will take the lead as they move around the other couples. ]
I'm Jayce, it's nice to meet you. [ Someone clearly really doesn't care much about the whole anonymity thing. He doesn't ask for the other man's name, though, just in case Jason does want to play up the mystery. ]
no subject
The same. It's nice put at least one name to a face tonight.
[Jason catches that Jayce didn't ask for his name so he decides not to give it for now. He only just met the man and would rather get to know him more first before deciding if he should give his name or even just an alias.
At the mention of "duties," and seeing that Jayce's outfit seems less of a costume and possibly more like proper formalwear or a full dress uniform, Jason takes some guesses]
So you're what? Military? A diplomat back home?
no subject
It is. I like to get to know people, and since I'm so new here, I wanted to socialize a little bit, but the masks make it very difficult.
[ That's understandable, and Jayce doesn't seem bothered by not having a name to go with Jason's voice. The man has been kind enough to give him a literal hand and dance with him when he needed to put some space between another unpleasant guest, and for that alone, Jayce is pleased. ]
Not quite. I'm an inventor and a scientist. That's where my interest really lies. But to get investors for funding, one needs to attend these kinds of parties on a regular basis. [ Jayce scrunches up his nose slightly, making it clear that it's more of a necessary evil than something he takes full joy in. ] Especially if you aim to get funding for projects that benefit all of society instead of a selected few.
[ This was something Viktor and he were still trying to accomplish because it was easier said than done. The growing tensions between Piltover and Zaun also didn't help. Jayce doesn't mention how he also became part of the city council, recently, or all the issues it brought up, because he's trying not to sour the conversation. ]
What about you? Are you one of the heroic types of this city, perhaps?
